You will deliver accurate internal and customer reporting, robust analysis and maintain effective control of program financial performance throughout the contract lifecycle, aligning with organisational financial rhythms and controls.\nThis role is ideally suited to a candidate with project accounting experience within Defence, engineering or government contracting sectors.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDeliver timely and accurate financial reporting, including analysis of cost allocations, actuals, forecasts, and variances.\nReview program cost allocations and ensure compliance with established procedures.\nSupport the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and associated assumptions through engagement with key stakeholders.\nProvide clear analysis, explanations, and recommended corrective actions for financial and reporting variances.\nManage and reconcile OSEC reporting (Orders, Sales, EBIT and Cash), including booking orders and backlog reconciliation.\nSupport customer invoicing preparation, debtor management, and cash flow tracking.\nMaintain accurate, audit-ready records and ensure compliance with financial controls, contract requirements, accounting standards, internal policies and procedures and Defence cost principles.\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting as required.\nForecast and track ROS% performance, including the assessment and incorporation of adjustments.\nReview pricing proposals and estimates, ensuring appropriate financial assumptions and methodologies are applied.\nApply an understanding of Defence Cost Principles and CASG Profit Principles.\nLiaise with relevant stakeholders on finance matters and contribute to the development of solutions for moderately complex issues\nWhat you'll bring:\nSignificant experience in program/project finance, management accounting, or commercial finance environments.\nCA or CPA qualified, or currently undertaking professional accounting studies.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and financial variances.\nAbility to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver accurate outcomes within agreed timeframes.\nProven ability to adapt to changing business needs while maintaining a flexible and proactive approach.\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and support effective corrective actions.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to develop efficient and repeatable reporting tools to support Project Managers and the Finance team.\nDon't meet every requirement?\nIf you're excited by this opportunity but don't meet every criterion, we'd still love to hear from you.
