Aligned with the Corporation’s Chief Technology Office, we work to advance scientific discovery and technology transition in human systems, robotics and autonomy, spectrum systems, data analytics and more!\nSpectrum Systems Lab (SSL) within ATL is hiring an energetic, enthusiastic, and Software Engineer with a foundation in software development.\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\nIn this role you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of software, algorithms, and hardware for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Your daily work will adapt to the evolving needs of our programs, allowing you to grow your skill set and directly impact cutting-edge projects that support both commercial and military platforms. Key taskings will including the following:\nDesign, code, and verify software for state-of-the-art unmanned aircraft systems.\nArchitect and implement scalable data-engineering pipelines for automated analysis of machine-learning, sensor-processing, and target-tracking research prototypes over large data sets.\nApply research engineering fundamentals to analyze, debug, and integrate bleeding-edge autonomy, swarming, and AI/ML capabilities on representative hardware platforms.\nLead or support research projects that innovate novel solutions for emerging autonomy challenges.\nParticipate in large-scale field tests on ground, sea, and air assets, assisting with system deployment, data collection, and post-test analysis.\nContribute to business development by crafting modern, customer-focused technical solutions and preparing technical briefings or proof-of-concept demonstrations\nFurther Information About This Opportunity:\nThis role is fully onsite in Eagan MN, with up to 25% travel to support needs. US Citizenship with eligibility for Secret clearance is required to start.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree (M.S. preferred) from an accredited university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.\nStrong Python skills and proficiency in at least one additional language (Rust or similar compiled language preferred).\nExperience with development on Linux platforms\nExperience with containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or equivalent).\nExperience with software transfer from simulation environments to real hardware\nExperience with Modern version-control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).\nExperience in Agile development environments (Scrum, Kanban).\nExcellent collaboration and communication abilities; proven success working in multidisciplinary teams.\nUS Citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret-level clearance\nDesired Skills\nActive Secret clearance\nExperience with autonomy and / or robotics (ground, air, marine, etc.) either real or simulated\nExperience with common data paradigms in distributed systems (pub-sub, request-reply, database design and I/O, etc.)\nExperience with sensor (cameras, radar, etc.) interfacing or optimization from a software or firmware perspective\nExperience with modern software development cadences (Agile, spiral, sprints, etc.) and infrastructure\nKnowledge of modern wireless communication techniques and protocols (e.g. mesh radios)\nExperience with development on rpm-based Linux platforms\nExperience working research projects on state-of-the-art technologies (e.g., AI-enhanced UxV autonomy, ATR, swarming, etc.)\nUnderstanding of UAS operations (ArduPilot vs. PX4, GCS paradigms), preferred, not required\nExposure to low-SWAP compute and writing / deploying software on constrained platforms\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
