You will lead the software development lifecycle for automated test systems that verify flight hardware for the U.S. Navy’s ballistic-missile flight-test fleet. This role blends software design, system integration, and test-equipment development in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment.\nKey activities you will accomplish in this role:\nLead the concept, design, procurement, assembly, and verification of automated test systems (ATE).\nGenerate software requirements from subsystem-level specifications through to complete test-system solutions.\nProduce detailed software documentation.\nExecute software-level integration, troubleshooting, and validation of test systems.\nDevelop and run test scripts (LabVIEW, C/C++, or Python) to automate instrument control and data capture.\nWork closely with suppliers, internal design teams, and Navy customers to deliver cost-effective, low-risk solutions.\nConduct technical reviews, cost-benefit analyses, and schedule risk assessments.\nMentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional teams through design, build, and test phases.\nCommunicate technical status and decisions to senior leadership and external stakeholders.\nMaintain configuration control, change-management, and issue-tracking records throughout the product lifecycle.\nEnsure compliance with Lockheed Martin standards.\nTo be effective in this role, you will need:\n Experience in software design and development and software integration and troubleshooting on hardware systems\n5+ years of professional experience for this role.\nYou will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required. \nThe information below reflects the standard job description for this position:\nPlans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.\nBasic Qualifications\nU.S. Citizen must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance\nDemonstrated experience with software design and development and software integration and troubleshooting on hardware systems\nDesired Skills\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience with product-lifecycle management (Design, Development, Deployment) and issue-tracking systems.\nExperience troubleshooting interactions between software and hardware such as network devices and lab instrumentation\nExperience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), test-software development (LabVIEW, C/C++, Python).\nPrior work on Electrical Ground Support Equipment, or communications systems for aerospace/defense.\nDemonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and deliver on schedule and cost targets.\nFamiliarity with Atlassian Products development processes.\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
