This role is responsible for the technical, cost, schedule, and execution performance of software development efforts while ensuring compliance with enterprise software engineering policies, contractual requirements, and program objectives.\nThe Software Lead provides strategic and technical leadership across agile software teams, drives software architecture and development execution, and ensures delivery of high-quality software solutions that support the Modeling and Simulation Vistas Framework (MSV-FWK) mission.\nKey Responsibilities\nSoftware Engineering Leadership\nServe as the program's Software Engineering Lead and primary representative for the RMS Software Engineering discipline.\nLead, mentor, and develop high-performing agile software teams, fostering technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nEnsure software engineering disciplines are represented across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)/Agile Teams and program technical forums.\nSupport Software Engineering personnel in resolving technical, programmatic, organizational, and staffing challenges.\nTechnical Leadership and Architecture\nOwn the software architecture roadmap, technical strategy, and evolution of program software capabilities.\nGuide the development and implementation of scalable, maintainable, and reusable software architectures and frameworks.\nSupport software architects in implementing common solutions to recurring software challenges across product teams.\nEnsure the software baseline evolves appropriately throughout the lifecycle while maintaining cost and schedule commitments.\nEnsure adequate technical trades, analyses, experimentation, simulation activities, and engineering assessments are performed to inform key decisions.\nSoftware Development Oversight\nLead the design, development, integration, testing, debugging, and deployment of software solutions addressing mission and business requirements.\nEnsure compliance with applicable software engineering standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.\nPlan and facilitate requirements reviews, architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and peer reviews.\nDefine and enforce software quality assurance practices and ensure the quality of software engineering products and deliverables\nWho We Are\nLockheed Martin is a global leader in the design, development, and manufacture of advanced defense and aerospace systems. You must be a US Citizen for consideration. \nDesired Skills\nExperience with software development metrics, technical performance measures, and engineering dashboards.\nExperience supporting program proposals, software estimates, and basis-of-estimate development.\nExperience managing software cost, schedule, technical performance, and execution risks.\nExperience with Software Modeling, UML, and/or Mermaid diagrams.\nExperience with Linux development environments.\nExperience with GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian tool suites.\nExperience with cloud-native architectures, containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, or DevSecOps environments.\nExperience analyzing software system throughput, latency, scalability, and performance.\nExperience with Software Architecture and Design.\nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.\nExperience planning and executing large-scale software development efforts.\nExperience working within Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Digital Engineering environments.\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
