This is a mission-critical national security program that requires strong technical coordination and direct customer engagement. You will lead a first-line manager (who oversees a 15-person team) and directly supervise approximately 14 senior engineers. The position is colocated with the customer full-time, giving you direct visibility to stakeholders and senior leadership while coordinating with a distributed workforce across four remote locations. This role bridges technical execution and program requirements, making sure engineering outputs hit program milestones and timelines. The position requires the ability to complete a polygraph examination.\nKey responsibilities include:\nProvide second-line leadership for a first-line manager and a specialized engineering workforce\nDrive coordination across diverse technical workstreams to align them toward common goals\nGuide teams through tactical planning to ensure clear direction and successful execution\nWork with the Release Train Engineer to plan and synchronize shared program work\nPlan, organize, and control resources to achieve technical, schedule, and cost objectives\nOversee cybersecurity integration across engineering deliverables\nProvide oversight for procurement of equipment, software licenses, and IT assets\nManage a distributed workforce involving both local and remote locations\nEnsure teams maintain progress toward deadlines and program goals\nPerforms tech planning, design, devel, integ, v&v for total syst life cycle. Analyses performed at all levels of syst product incl. concept, design, fabrication, test, instl, operation, maintenance & disposal, incorp design methods & stds for Cyber Security, SW & HW infrastructure. Designs, devels, docs, tests & debugs SW that contains logical & math solutions to business/mission problems/questions in computer language. Ensures the logical & syst conversion of customer/product reqs into total syst solutions that ack tech, sched, cost constraints & align to SW & HW deployment pipelines & factories. Performs func & timeline analysis, detail trade & reqs allocation & interface defs studies to translate customer reqs into HW & SW feature defs & acceptance criteria. Applies stds, processes, procedures & tools throughout the devel life cycle. Applies HW & SW knowledge, cyber security stds in business/mission apps, & feedback from users to develop SW. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles doc of program devel & analyzes syst capabilities to resolve program problems, output/input data acq, programming tech & controls. Ensures SW stds are met. Validates incorp of features & use cases into implemented designs\nBasic Qualifications\nActive Top Secret/SCI clearance\n5+ years of experience in a technical or engineering leadership role\nExperience leading teams of 10+ technical/engineering personnel\nHands-on experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe)\nTechnical background in software development, IT systems, or related engineering discipline\nExperience managing teams distributed across multiple geographic locations\nDesired Skills\nExperience working embedded with a customer, directly engaging stakeholders\nTrack record leading virtual or multi-location teams\nFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices and secure software development lifecycles\nKnowledge of cybersecurity controls and frameworks (NIST 800-53 Rev 5)\nExperience with IT asset management, configuration management, and procurement processes\nExperience with cloud environments, virtualized infrastructure, or full-stack development\nAbility to learn quickly and take ownership in fast-paced environments\nProgram Management Professional (PMP) certification\nControl Account Manager (CAM) certification and experience\nExperience supporting IC (Intelligence Community) or DOD customers\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
