These functions encompass the full spectrum of hardware development, including development, design, fabrication, testing, integration, and delivery, and you will play a key role in ensuring seamless interaction and coordination among these teams.\nJob responsibilities include:\nIndependently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, working with large assemblies, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.\nReview requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.\nCollaborate with peers, ATLO, payload teams, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.\nContribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs.\nThe ideal candidate will have knowledge of 3D CAD Modeling in PTC CREO, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), have good communications skills (both oral and written) and a background in Mechanical Engineering processes.\nResearches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelors or higher degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or combination of experience/education.\nMechanical design knowledge / experience that includes the interpretation of engineering design drawings.\nKnowledge with engineering CAD tools (Creo, Solid Works, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.\nUnderstanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.\nCandidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.\nDesired Skills\n5 or more years of relevant professional experience in structural design\nAbility and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.\nExperience with application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.\nExperience with Engineering Data Product release process within the Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system.\nKnowledge of LM Space command media.\nWorking knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical systems.\nActive DoD Top Secret security clearance\nProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
