Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience\nPrior experience leading a small technical team in a collaborative and team-based environment using good verbal and written communication skills\n2-3 years of demonstrated understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials and the application of Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts\nRobust knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis\nExperience with solid model and drawing creation using 3D computer-aided design software, specification development, vendor interface, parts selection, and configuration control\nAbility to obtain a security clearance; US citizenship required\nDesired Skills\nPrior experience with complex mechanical subsystems and associated interfaces with other systems\nUnderstanding and ability to apply advanced Mechanical Engineering principles, theories, and concepts\nExperience with the production, test, and integration of mechanical systems\nActive security clearance\nProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
