These functions encompass the full spectrum of hardware development, including development, design, fabrication, testing, integration, and delivery, and you will play a key role in ensuring seamless interaction and coordination among these teams. Your responsibilities may include some of the following:\nResearch, design, analyze, and develop innovative components, assemblies, and systems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical rigor and timely delivery.\nDevelop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses, including 3D solid models and 2D drawings.\nBe a member of integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, adjacent functions, suppliers, and stakeholders, to support products through the entire engineering lifecycle.\nIndependently review requirements, from various sources (instrumentation, dynamics, stress, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.\nResearches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.\n7 years or more of mechanical design and/or integration experience\nDemonstrated understanding of structures and materials as well as the application of Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts.\nRobust knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform complex detailed part and subsystem tolerance analysis.\nExperience with solid model and drawing creation using 3D computer-aided design software, specification development, vendor interface, parts selection, and configuration control.\nExcellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.\nMust be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.\nDesired Skills\nExperience with satellite bus structure design.\nExperience with composite materials or bonded assemblies.\nSelf starter with outside the box thinking.\nAbility and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.\nExtensive experience with application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.\nExperience with Engineering Data Product release process within the Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system.\nActive DoD Top Secret security clearance.\nProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice\nPay Information\nFull-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00\nAt Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
