In this role you will have the responsibility of conducting systems engineering functions for the Navy Trident Navigation Stragetic Weapons System program. The ideal candidate will coordinate with engineering teams, engineering project managers, program management, and forward site field engineers on next generation subsystem installation, daily maintenance schedule reporting, submarine refit tasks, advanced support of submarine inboard and outboard maintenance, problem investigation and troubleshooting tasks to support the fleet SSBN Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Trident Navigation subsystem operational life-cycle maintenance. This position will require travel (may include: Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, FL., Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA., Naval Submarine Base Bangor, WA.). Assignment will otherwise be primarily located in Uniondale, New York.\nPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related subject area from an accredited college or university is required\nAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance\nProject management tools to support status reporting and customer meetings, and ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope\nExperience with integrated systems and sustainment life-cycle to maximize operational readiness\nExperience preparing charts and giving presentations outlining technical issues, solutions\nDesired Skills\nPrior Trident experience is desired, Trident Navigation is a plus\nTechnical experience and knowledge of FBM Missile Program\nExperience with navigation principles and applications\nClear and concise communication style, ability to communicate with all levels of leadership, peers and customers\nExperience in analyzing and resolving problems\nExperience in effectively working in teams\nStrong Microsoft Office product knowledge\nExperience with OHIO/Vanguard Class SSBNs and sustainment lifecycle to coordinate Extended Refit Period (ERPs) and Shipyard Integrated Test Program (SITP)\nExperience with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) applications (SWSNET) such Advanced Coordination Environment (ACE), Test Program Information Exchange System (TIES), Maintenance Applications (MA), Strategic Systems Programs Alteration (SPALT) Data System (SDS)\nPay Information\nGeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States.
