This is an opportunity to work alongside some of Australia's leading Defence engineers, expand your technical influence, and help shape the future of complex Defence capability.\nKey Responsibilities\nThe Senior Staff Systems Engineer's primary responsibilities include:\nLead and support systems engineering activities across complex Defence programs, from requirements definition through to integration, verification and delivery\nProvide specialist expertise in areas such as requirements management, systems architecture, specialty engineering, or verification & validation\nContribute to technical reviews, bids, governance activities and engineering assurance processes across the business\nCollaborate with project teams, functional leaders and stakeholders to solve complex technical and program challenges\nSupport the development and continuous improvement of Systems Engineering processes, tools, training and capability initiatives\nMentor and guide engineers while promoting engineering best practice across the organisation\nWhat you’ll bring\nTo be successful in this role you will have:\nSignificant experience in Systems Engineering, including delivery of complex Defence, aerospace, maritime or other high-technology programs\nDeep expertise in one or more systems engineering disciplines such as requirements management, systems architecture, specialty engineering, or verification & validation\nProven experience delivering systems or subsystems engineering outcomes across the engineering lifecycle\nStrong stakeholder management, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and program decisions\nDemonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in complex environments\nExperience with MBSE methodologies, Agile development practices, Defence capability domains, or test automation approaches will be highly regarded\nNV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information\nProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice\nAbout Lockheed Martin\nLockheed Martin is a dynamic organisation, providing stimulating and challenging opportunities with a global team of over 122,000 professionals.
