The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of software engineers and perform the role of Deputy Product Manager for DT&E.\nLockheed Martin seeks an experienced Systems Engineer Associate Manager to lead and manage a team of software engineers and perform the role of Deputy Product Manager within the DT&E Team. This position sits at the intersection of systems engineering leadership and SAFe product ownership, ensuring technical alignment, value delivery, and compliance across an agile organization. The incumbent will support the Product Manager in backlog governance, Planning Increment (PI) execution, and cross-team coordination while maintaining rigorous systems engineering rigor.\nThe position is located in Orlando, Florida.\nThe primary qualifications and task requirements include but are not limited to:\nPerformance management of the team against business goals, outcomes and program milestones\nPlan, track and execute the on-time delivery of technical products ensuring quality and adherence to contractual requirements\nAct as the Deputy Product Manager (PM) for development of DT&E technical products\nDevelop and perform in depth briefings for LM senior management and external customers including participation in routine meetings and program reviews\nInterface with a variety of stakeholders including internal LM, subcontractors, and external government, engineering, finance and program management disciplines\nDemonstrate strong project/team leadership with the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple sustainment and engineering disciplines\nManage competing demands for resources to meet product due dates\nStandard Job Description\nPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field; Master’s preferred\nProven project leadership and/or formal leadership experience with the ability to mentor new employees to quickly become meaningful team contributors\nKnowledge of systems engineering principles and methodologies\nExperience with software design, coding, build, and/or testing processes, workflows and feedback loops in quality management \nDesired Skills\n3+ years of systems engineering experience, with experience in a SAFe ART environment.\nExpertise in the software coding language and libraries (Python, Javascript, C++, NumPy, SimPy, etc.)\n3+ years demonstrated experience in leading Agile software development teams and processes (product owner, product manager, etc.)\nProven experience acting in a Deputy Product Manager, Release Train Engineer, Product Owner or ScrumMaster role within SAFe.\nWorking knowledge of SAFe roles, events, and artifacts.
