This position supports production, overburden removal, haulage, stockpile management, road maintenance, and other mining activities while adhering to all safety, environmental, and operational standards.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nOperate mining equipment including haul trucks, dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, water trucks, and other support equipment.\nPerform pre-shift and post-shift inspections and complete required equipment inspection reports.\nSafely transport ore, waste rock, overburden, and other materials throughout the mine site.\nMaintain haul roads, access roads, dumps, stockpiles, and work areas.\nLoad and unload materials efficiently while minimizing equipment wear and damage.\nMonitor equipment performance and promptly report mechanical issues or safety concerns.\nFollow mine plans, production schedules, radio communication protocols, and supervisor instructions.\nAssist with drilling, blasting support, reclamation, and earthmoving activities as required.\nAdhere to all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental requirements.\nParticipate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nMaintain accurate production, inspection, and operational records.\nWork effectively with dispatchers, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and fellow operators.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred.\nMinimum 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience; surface mining experience preferred.\nKnowledge of safe operating practices for large mobile mining equipment.\nAbility to read and interpret mine maps, procedures, and operating instructions.\nValid driver's license with acceptable driving record.\nAbility to obtain and maintain required mine site certifications and site access credentials.\nStrong commitment to safety and operational excellence.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMSHA Part 46 or Part 48 Surface Miner Training.\nExperience operating CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, or similar mining equipment.\nGPS machine control experience.\nBasic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.\nExperience working in large-scale aggregate, quarry, copper, coal, gold, or industrial mineral mining operations.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.\nAbility to climb ladders, steps, and access equipment safely.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, dust, mud, and noise.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.\nAbility to work day, night, weekend, holiday, and rotating shifts as required.\n\nWork Environment\nSurface mining operation with exposure to heavy equipment traffic, dust, vibration, and changing weather conditions.\nRequires strict adherence to safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.\nMay require overtime and travel between surface mine locations.\nKey Competencies\nSafety Focus\nSituational Awareness\nEquipment Operation Expertise\nReliability and Attendance\nTeamwork and Communication\nProblem Solving\nAttention to Detail\nProduction Efficiency\nThis role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.\nBenefits - Loenbro offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and rewards to those who join our team:\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) retirement plan with company match\nPaid time off (PTO)\nLife and disability insurance\nProfessional development and training opportunities\nEmployee assistance program (EAP)\nBenefits eligibility may vary based on employment classification and hours worked.\nGuided by Core Values (LEAD), grounded in grit and a commitment to excellence, Loenbro betters our families, customers, andlocal communities.
