The Lead Rigger provides daily on-site supervision as the designated person in charge for lifting/rigging activities while working as a productive member of the crew.\nThe successful candidate will have a solid background in rigging, erecting, modifying structural steel in an industrial construction setting. Your leadership skills and your experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else. \nEssential Job Responsibilities \nCoordinates and supervises daily activities of crew while working as a productive member of that crew.\nVisually inspect and test rigging materials to ensure safety and reliability.\nSelect appropriate gear such as cables, pulleys, vices, winches, etc. according to load weights and sizes, work area, and job specifications.\nEnsure all lifts comply with client requirements and project-specific lift plans.\nMaintain satisfactory standards of employee conduct, integrity, and competence.\nleading or participating in daily JHAs / toolbox talks and exercising stop-work authority.\nBe aware of obstacles, surrounding structures, barriers or objects and the location of other people.\nSignal or verbally communicate with workers and others engaged in hoisting, suspending, and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials.\nDismantle, inspect, clean, organize and store rigging equipment after use.\nSupervise and train workers.\nGuarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are followed.\nSupport five-day ten hour work schedule.\nMinimum Qualifications \nRequired: \nNCCER Advanced Rigger certification (or certification equivalent to NCCCO Advanced Rigger with proof of practical and written test) mandatory.\n3+ years’ experience industrial or heavy-lift rigging experience.\nAble to manage team members and multiple projects.\nKnowledge of reading and interpreting sketches, blueprints, and detailed drawings\nCoordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.\nEnsure labor and resources are adequate.\nMust pass a background check and do a drug screening.\nPreferred: \nCapable of performing physically demanding tasks during long shifts.\nSkilled in math which includes adding and subtracting fractions.\nFall Protection Competent Person, MEWP, First Aid/CPR certifications.\nPrevious Lead or Foreman experience on industrial projects.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment \nThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
