This position works closely with business development, operations, estimating, engineering, and project management teams to develop accurate budgets, comprehensive proposals, constructability reviews, value engineering solutions, and execution strategies before project award.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical electrical expertise with exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to support successful project pursuits and seamless project handoffs to operations teams.\nResponsibilities\nPreconstruction Planning\nCollaborate with business development, estimating, engineering, and operations teams to develop project pursuit strategies and preconstruction plans.\nReview project plans, specifications, and owner requirements to identify project risks, opportunities, and scope requirements.\nParticipate in budgeting, conceptual estimating, and cost analysis activities during all phases of project development.\nEstimating & Cost Analysis\nAssist in the preparation of detailed quantity takeoffs, labor estimates, material pricing, and subcontractor evaluations.\nDevelop conceptual, schematic, and design-development estimates for construction projects.\nSupport the evaluation of alternate systems, materials, and construction methods to optimize project value.\nTechnical Review & Engineering Support\nPerform constructability reviews of drawings and specifications.\nIdentify design conflicts, scope gaps, and coordination challenges prior to construction.\nProvide technical expertise related to power distribution, medium-voltage systems, critical power infrastructure, and data center electrical systems.\nValue Engineering\nDevelop and present value engineering recommendations that improve cost, schedule, quality, and constructability.\nAnalyze design alternatives and provide recommendations that align with client objectives and project requirements.\nProposal Development\nAssist in the preparation of proposals, qualifications packages, scope narratives, schedules, and bid submissions.\nSupport presentations and meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.\nCoordinate with internal teams to ensure proposal accuracy and completeness.\nVendor & Subcontractor Coordination\nSolicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.\nBuild relationships with key vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and technical support.\nReview scopes of work to ensure alignment with project requirements.\nProject Transition\nFacilitate the handoff of awarded projects to project management and field operations teams.\nEnsure all preconstruction documentation, estimates, assumptions, and project risks are thoroughly communicated.\nClient Engagement\nEngage with clients during the preconstruction process to understand project goals, budget constraints, and schedule requirements.\nProvide technical support and guidance to clients throughout project development.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.\n3+ years of experience in electrical construction, estimating, preconstruction, project engineering, or project management.\nExperience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial electrical projects preferred.\nStrong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry best practices.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.\nExperience with estimating software, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar construction technology platforms.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with medium-voltage power distribution systems.\nKnowledge of mission-critical or data center construction environments.\nExperience with conceptual budgeting and design-build project delivery methods.\nUnderstanding of BIM coordination and constructability review processes.\nProfessional Engineer (PE), FE/EIT, or industry certifications are a plus.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
