Job Summary

Responsible for planning, scheduling, employee oversite, and management of commercial process piping construction projects up to $200M in value, with an emphasis on ASME code piping work (primarily B31.3 Process Piping). Assists Project Manager in coordinating the activities of pipefitters, welders, and craft supervision engaged in the fabrication and field installation of process piping systems, utilizing in-depth knowledge of ASME code requirements, welding and NDE processes, piping equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications.  This position is responsible for assisting craft supervision in coordinating the activities of workers engaged in the process piping construction process, ensuring ASME code compliance, weld quality, and schedule adherence throughout fabrication and field installation.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman. Ensure that critical activities and decisions remain on schedule for the project management team.
• Oversee field specific activities for process piping construction projects from setup to closeout, related to industries including power generation, industrial/process facilities, and semiconductor / mission critical, ensuring work is executed in accordance with applicable ASME piping codes.
• Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, and provide to the project management team.
• Ensure ASME B31.3 (Process Piping) code compliance, along with any applicable B31.1 or ASME Section VIII requirements, across all fabrication and field installation activities.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and third-party inspection on weld procedure qualification (WPS/PQR), welder certification, NDE (RT, UT, PT, MT), post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), hydrostatic testing, and Positive Material Identification (PMI) for pressure piping systems.
• Review and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, and piping material specifications to support constructability, fabrication planning, and field installation sequencing.
• Respond to subcontractor requests for field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule.
• Supervises the daily work of employees.
• Verifies conformance of finished work product, including overseeing compliance with all contract requirements.
• Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.
• Coordination of all labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with Project subordinates and other Loenbro companies to ensure timely, cost-effective completion of project.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction of large-scale commercial projects.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing pipefitting, welding, and mechanical craft trades.
• Previous experience working on process piping projects within industrial, power generation, refining/chemical, or semiconductor / mission critical markets.
• Extensive experience managing fabrication and field installation of process piping systems, including hands-on knowledge of ASME B31.3 (Process Piping) code requirements.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section IX (Welding and Brazing Qualifications) and applicable NDE codes/standards.
• Experience coordinating QA/QC and inspection activities for pressure piping, including WPS/PQR, welder qualification, NDE, and hydrostatic testing.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, and piping specifications.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
• Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
• Ability to travel at least 75% of the time.
• Driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred:

• Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program.
• Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
• Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software.
• Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
• Experience coordinating pipe fabrication/spool shop activities in support of field installation.
• AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or similar welding inspection credential.
• Engineering or Construction Management Degree preferred.
