The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and equipment essential for our electrical projects, ensuring that we maintain cost-effective and efficient supply chains while adhering to quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong negotiation skills and an understanding of electrical materials.\nEssential Job Responsibilities\nVendor Selection: Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, and establish relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective sources of materials and equipment.\nPurchasing: Place orders for electrical materials, equipment, and supplies in a timely manner to meet project requirements while optimizing cost efficiency.\nInventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track usage, and replenish stock as needed to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.\nCost Control: Monitor and analyze pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize profitability and reduce expenses.\nQuality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials and equipment meet the required standards and specifications.\nDocumentation: Maintain detailed records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.\nCommunication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and coordinate procurement efforts accordingly.\n Qualifications\n1 year of purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.\nProven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the electrical or construction industries.\nStrong negotiation and communication skills.\nProficiency in procurement software and tools.\nExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nPreference\nBachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred\nVista\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
