Join a team where your expertise is valued, your growth is supported, and your work helps maintain and enhance the critical infrastructure that powers communities across the nation. \n\nPosition Summary\nThe Welding Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating welding crews engaged in the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of structural steel, piping, utility, industrial, and construction projects. This role ensures all welding activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, welding procedures, and applicable codes. The Welding Foreman provides leadership in the field while serving as the primary point of contact between craft personnel, inspectors, and project management.\nEssential Responsibilities\nLead and supervise welding crews to ensure safe, productive, and high-quality work.\nPlan and coordinate daily welding activities, manpower, equipment, and material requirements.\nReview project drawings, welding procedures, specifications, and schedules to ensure proper execution of work.\nEnsure compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and client requirements.\nConduct daily safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices.\nVerify that all welding is performed according to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and applicable codes.\nCoordinate fit-up, welding, grinding, fabrication, and installation activities.\nMonitor weld quality and productivity to ensure project schedules and quality standards are achieved.\nWork closely with quality control personnel, inspectors, and project management to address welding-related issues.\nEnsure proper maintenance and operation of welding equipment, tools, and support equipment.\nMaintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, labor hours, and project documentation.\nAssist with weld testing, inspections, and corrective actions when required.\nTrain, mentor, and develop welders and helpers to improve skill levels and performance.\nIdentify and resolve field issues that could impact safety, quality, or project timelines.\nCoordinate material deliveries and ensure welding consumables are properly stored and controlled.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED.\n5+ years of welding experience in industrial, structural, pipeline, utility, or construction environments.\n2+ years of supervisory or foreman experience leading welding crews.\nStrong knowledge of welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.\nKnowledge of welding codes and industry standards.\nStrong understanding of safety requirements related to welding, cutting, and hot work activities.\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.\nAbility to pass required welding tests, background screenings, and drug testing requirements.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAWS Certified Welder (CW) or equivalent certification.\nAWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) training or experience.\nOSHA 30 Certification.\nNCCER Welding Certification.\nExperience supervising large-scale industrial, commercial, utility, or pipeline projects.\nExperience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and specialty alloy welding applications.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong leadership and crew management skills.\nExcellent communication and organizational abilities.\nAbility to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nThorough knowledge of welding procedures, fabrication techniques, and quality control requirements.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and productivity.\nAbility to effectively collaborate with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and clients.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work outdoors and in industrial environments under varying weather conditions.\nFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding hood, respirator, gloves, and safety gear.\nAbility to work overtime, weekends, and travel as required by project needs.\nWork Environment\nConstruction, industrial, utility, fabrication, manufacturing, and pipeline project sites.\nExposure to heat, welding fumes, noise, sparks, elevated work areas, and heavy equipment operations.\nTravel between job sites may be required.\nBenefits \nLoenbro offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and rewards to those who join our team: \nMedical, dental, and vision insurance \n 401(k) retirement plan with company match \n Paid time off (PTO)\nLife and disability insurance \nProfessional development and training opportunities \n Employee assistance program (EAP) \nBenefits eligibility may vary based on employment classification and hours worked. \n\nGuided by Core Values (LEAD), grounded in grit and a commitment to excellence, Loenbro betters our families, customers, and local communities.
