Role:\nOperational & Technical Leadership.\n\nLead the development of Orbitworks’ “Solutions” software stack in collaboration with the Principal Solution Architect..\n\nDefine and implement scalable frontend and backend architectures for customer-facing applications.\n\nDrive engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle, including tooling, code quality, testing, and deployment strategies.\n\nPromote and implement AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering practices.\n\nSoftware Development.\n\nDevelop highly interactive frontend applications and performant backend APIs.\n\nImplement features for key strategic projects including:\n\nCNC2: Collection Needs Command & Control platform for order management and tasking.\n\nDatalake: Cataloguing, storage, streaming, and downstream data services for customers and AI applications.\n\nDesign systems capable of processing large volumes of geospatial and temporal data with high responsiveness and reliability.\n\nBuild applications leveraging modern web technologies and geospatial frameworks.\n\nInfrastructure & Deployment.\n\nImplement containerized deployment strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nSupport CI/CD implementation and Agile development workflows.\n\nCoordinate closely with Infrastructure teams to ensure application performance, scalability, and operational data systems.\n\nContribute technical expertise to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategy.\n\nMust Haves:\n10+ years of experience in software engineering and full-stack web development.\n\nProven track record leading complex web-development projects with highly interactive and reactive UIs.\n\nStrong expertise in modern frontend and backend technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, FastAPI, and related ecosystems.\n\nExperience designing scalable software architectures and APIs.\n\nStrong understanding of computer architecture and performance optimization, including data flows, storage systems, networking, memory management, and latency considerations.\n\nExperience with cloud-native and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nStrong knowledge of databases and geospatial data technologies including PostgreSQL/PostGIS and related tools.\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development methodologies.\n\nFamiliarity with GIS and geospatial technologies such as Mapbox/MapLibre, OpenLayers, QGIS, GDAL, STAC, and OGC standards.\n\nStrong programming experience in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments.\n\nStrong communication skills and English fluency.\n\nNice to Haves:\nExperience in Earth Observation or Remote Sensing domains.\n\nKnowledge of GeoINT workflows and geospatial intelligence applications.\n\nExperience applying AI/ML techniques to computer vision, geographic data, or remote sensing datasets.\n\nExperience building real-time, highly interactive visualization platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with WebGL2, WebAssembly, DuckDB, Parquet, Tailwind,
