The role has responsibility for a portfolio of security strategy & ongoing management, infrastructure management, operational budget planning and vendor management. The SIO Lead may directly lead and manage the activities below through his/her team or may identify, select, and manage strategic 3rd party partners to assist in managing these areas of responsibility. This role reports to the CTO. \nResponsibilities:\nSecurity Strategy & Management \nLead the design, implementation, and management of security policies, procedures, and technologies to protect LSI’s digital and physical assets \nIdentify, assess, and prioritize security risks and implement controls to mitigate vulnerabilities \nDevelop and maintain incident response plans \nLead investigations of security breaches and coordinate the response to any security incidents or data breaches. \nEnsure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards (e.g., SOC1, SOC 2, ISO 27001), and best practices for security \nEstablish a security awareness program for employees to minimize human error and increase vigilance against cyber threats \nInfrastructure Management \nLead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and highly available IT infrastructure (servers, databases, networks, etc.) to support growth and operational needs \nOversee cloud (e.g., AWS) ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and secure environments \nSupport and manage the enterprise collaboration environment (Zoom, Teams, Sharepoint, MSFT 365, etc.) \nEnsure the security, performance, and optimization of the organization's network architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, and other network security measures \nDevelop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption in case of system failure or other critical events \nOperations and Process Optimization \nImplement and optimize operational processes to ensure high uptime and availability of systems and services \nImplement monitoring tools and dashboards to track system health, performance, and security. Use metrics to continuously improve operations \nLead efforts to automate routine tasks (e.g., deployments, updates, scaling) to improve efficiency and reduce human error \nOversee relationships with external vendors and service providers for infrastructure, security, and operational needs, including LSI’s MSP outsourced service provider \nCollaboration and Leadership \nCollaborate with other functional teams (engineering, platform/product, data & AI, legal, etc.) to understand and fulfil infrastructure and security requirements \nProvide regular reports on system performance, security posture, incidents, and ongoing improvements to the CTO and other stakeholders \nBudget and Resource Management \nManage the budget for infrastructure, security, and operations, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently \nIdentify opportunities to optimize costs, particularly across cloud infrastructure, support (MSP) costs, and security tools \nSkills and Experience:\nIdeal candidate will have demonstrated experiences in: \nInfrastructure and cloud operations (AWS preferred) \nOperational excellence: capacity planning, change management, incident management, 3rd party vendor management \nMonitoring & reliability, automation, and dev ops \nStrategy planning for infrastructure and operations \nManaging multimillion dollar infrastructure budgets \nLeading major modernization initiatives \nTravel: This role will not require travel.\nOther Duties: This Position Description is not an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities, and the employee is expected to perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
