Do you want to make a difference by ensuring the secure and efficient management of databases in cloud environments used by some of the biggest companies in the world and a critical player in the market infrastructure?\nWe are looking for a skilled Lead Cloud Database Engineer to join the LCH SA Infrastructure & Cloud Team, which provides technical resources to Post Trade Business Services (a division of LSEG). This role is vital in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available database systems. You will also serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all database-related subjects, manage a growing team of database engineers. Collaboration with development teams, operations, and partners will be crucial in ensuring efficient performance and availability of our critical environments.\nKey responsibilities and accountabilities\nManagement of a growing team in charge of databases management.\nImplement and manage cloud-based database systems, ensuring secure and efficient access control.\nDevelop, manage, and optimize database policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ANSSI standards and other security standards.\nServe as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all database-related subjects, coordinating with various teams to address security concerns.\nConduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses in database systems.\nDesign, implement and regularly validate Disaster Recovery (DR), backup, and recovery strategies for database platforms, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and compliance with defined RTO/RPO objectives.\nManage database lifecycle operations, including patching, upgrades, replication, and migration activities, ensuring minimal service disruption, security compliance and operational resilience across cloud and on-premises environments\nDevelop and maintain incident response plans to quickly address and mitigate security breaches related to databases.\nWork closely with IT and security teams to align database operations with organizational goals.\nEnsure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and best practices.\nProvide mentorship to team members on database best practices and security measures.\nMaintain database services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.\nLead sustainable and efficient incident response for database-related issues.\nScale database systems sustainably through automation, advocating for changes that improve reliability and security.\nWrite highly optimized and accurate code for database solutions.\nProactively build and apply relevant domain knowledge related to database workflows, policies, configurations, and constraints.\nSupport essential database processes while ensuring high-quality standards are met\nWhat you'll be doing:\nAssess, plan, design, and implement database infrastructure as highly available and scalable solutions to support critical applications and services.\nWrite and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate the deployment and management of database resources.\nApply ANSSI standards to secure database resources and perform regular audits to ensure compliance.\nConduct capacity planning and troubleshooting of database applications, products, infrastructure, and services.\nMonitor and observe database applications and infrastructure.\nLeverage testing environments using industry practices for pre-testing changes and proof of concept.\nFix and resolve database-related issues across cloud environments.\nParticipate in cloud engineering tasks to manage and optimize infrastructure, including network resources, security measures, and automation.\nParticipate in on-call rotation shifts.\nYou'll bring:\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nAt least 8 years of experience in managing and maintaining database infrastructure in regulated and/or highly available environments.\nExpertise in Oracle Enterprise, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases.\nPreferably certified in Oracle DBA\nProven experience with database migration projects, including planning, execution, and troubleshooting.\nAdvanced experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google) for at least 3 years.\nExpertise in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and automation/configuration management tools (Ansible) for at least 3 years.\nExperience with VMware technology is advantageous\nExperience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.\nExperience operating in a regulated environment with specific security constraints (at least 2 years).\nExperience in systems monitoring and capacity management (at least 5 years).\nAdherence to applicable risk control frameworks, policies, and procedures.\nAbout London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG)\nLSEG’s vision is to be the most trusted authority in global financial markets.
