The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong technical and quantitative software development expertise, including the design and implementation of index/benchmark portfolio construction, index and benchmark analytics, systematic investment strategies, and related quantitative tools and frameworks.\nSuccess in this role requires the ability to independently learn new technologies and business concepts, troubleshoot challenging technical issues, and deliver high-quality solutions with minimal supervision. The candidate should demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement and engineering excellence.\nWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:\nDevelop and maintain platforms and tools supporting custom, thematic, and bespoke FICC index and benchmark solutions, with a focus on engineered products and rates.\nDesign and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions using modern engineering practices.\nCollaborate with product, research, and index teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\nInvestigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production, data, and application issues through structured root-cause analysis. \nDrive platform modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption and improvements to development and deployment processes.\nEnhance software quality, automation, and operational efficiency through testing, code reviews, and CI/CD best practices.\nWork across a diverse technology stack, including Python, Linux, cloud technologies, and legacy applications.\nTake ownership of projects throughout the full development lifecycle, from solution design and implementation to production support.\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING:\nSignificant hands-on software development experience (typically 7+ years), preferably in financial services or data-intensive environments. \nStrong Python development skills and experience working in Linux-based environments, demonstrated hands-on programming experience and a solid understanding of software engineering principles. \nStrong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, testing, code quality, and performance optimization.\nDemonstrated ability to independently investigate and solve complex technical problems. \nExperience developing and supporting production systems in a business-critical environment.\nExperience working with source control and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, GitLab). \nStrong SQL and data processing experience. \nAbility to quickly learn new technologies, business domains, and data models. \nStrong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to drive work independently.\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.\nDesirable but not essential:\nExperience developing solutions within financial services, market data, index management, quantitative research, or investment management. \nKnowledge of cloud technologies and cloud-native application architecture. \nProven track record of building scalable data platforms, analytics tools, or workflow automation solutions.\nExposure to real-time or near real-time systems, event-driven architectures, or low-latency data processing environments. \nFamiliarity with legacy technologies such as Perl, Shell scripting, Java, or C/C++.\nUnderstanding of quantitative analytics and financial instruments.\nCareer Stage:\nManagerLondon Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Information:\nJoin us and be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
