This role will focus on automating processes and building tools to drive down cyber security risk. Your contributions will be critical in streamlining operations, automating high impact security checks, and supporting the team’s long-term success.\nOur environment is cloud-native, primarily AWS based with a mature development ecosystem and well-established standards.\nResponsibilities\nGather user requirements, decipher the needs and expectations of internal and external customers, and translate them into effective solution designs. \nMaintain regular communication with partners, providing updates and collecting feedback for continuous improvement. \nImplement and deliver solutions within agreed timeframes. \nFully test services including unit tests and user acceptance tests. \nProvide full documentation ensuring there are appropriate artefacts for maintaining, extending and using your work in your absence. \nEnsure all services align with LSEG security standards, team quality controls, and validated approaches. \nCollaborate with partner teams to integrate security measures into all stages of the development lifecycle and existing tooling. \nContinuously evaluate and improve quality and security processes, policies and documentation based on lessons learned and industry developments where possible through automation. \nCommunicate sophisticated technology concepts and solutions clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, and documentation. \nDemonstrate strong active listening skills and provide constructive feedback to colleagues and partners \nRequired Experience & Skills\nRequired Qualification:\nBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems / Technology, Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent field of study. \nCore technical skills\nProven experience in crafting design documents \nProven experience with Python 3.7+ and VueJS 2 or 3 \nProven experience with API Development (Flask API or any) \nProven experience with CLI tool development (Cleo or any) \nProven experience with Unit testing / Integration / Behavioral testing \nProven experience in maintaining complete software development lifecycle \nProven experience with IaC technology to maintain cloud infrastructure \nProven experience with setting up and managing resources in cloud hosting solutions (AWS preferred) \nProven experience with PowerShell and/or Bash Scripting \nProven experience with containerisation \nSolid exposure to different software architectures \nProven experience with RDBMS databases or NoSQL, preferably with MySQL/PostgreSQL or similar \nProven experience with Git repository management - we use Gitlab / Git \nProven experience with Static analysis tooling \nProven experience with CI / CD \nAny knowledge of Azure / Graph API Is a bonus \nGood understanding of UI/UX \nRequired Professional Attributes and Demeanour\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail (comfortable investigating issues on production) \nStrong understanding of security vulnerabilities and common software engineering flaws. \nComfortable with Agile practices (Daily standups, retros, demoes) \nA disliking for silo operations \nComfortable with demoes showcasing progression of work. \nEvidence driven, methodical and incremental approach over future proofing approach \nProficiency with designing software and discussing with collaborators over contributing a solution to code \nGreat teammate and able to self-organise is vital \nProactive over reactive \nEstimation, Planning and maintenance of the backlog \nComfortable exploring and adopting out of the box solutions including outside of immediate expertise. \nTaking challenge as an opportunity \nAble to push back over overcommitting and underdeliver \nA kind, collaborative personality while being firm on delivering work and driving progress. \nThis is a great opportunity for an experienced software engineer looking to work in a highly dynamic security-focused team.
