And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.\nOur Process Engineer will support ongoing operations at the Porriño site, providing technical assistance related to manufacturing, utilities, and process systems. The role offers the opportunity to develop hands-on experience in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment while working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.\nThe focus of the role is to develop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes, support day-to-day operations, and contribute to engineering and improvement projects that help ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable manufacturing.\nWhat you’ll do:\nDevelop technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, utilities, and processes, with support from experienced engineers and subject matter experts.\n\nSupport the identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve manufacturing processes in terms of safety, quality, cost, time, and yield.\n\nParticipate in the design, implementation, commissioning, and qualification of engineering projects at the site.\n\nProcess Engineering Lead in medium complexity projects coordinating and supporting team members (Junior Process Engineer, contractors)\n\nSupport the installation qualification (IQ) activities for new and modified equipment and systems.\n\nCollaborate with other areas and departments of Porriño, including Production, MSAT, Quality, and Program Management, to help resolve quality and production issues.\n\nProvide technical support for process equipment and systems and contribute to troubleshooting activities.\n\nSupport deviation investigations and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions where required.\n\nAssist with the tech transfer of new processes into the facility.\n\nDevelop knowledge of cGMP and safety requirements and ensure that activities are performed in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.\n\nSupport the preparation and review of technical documentation related to engineering projects and manufacturing processes.\n\nProvide support to manufacturing operations, including participation in an on-call rotation as required after appropriate training.\n\nLead by example in critical tasks, anticipate risks, and reinforce safe habits; comply with rules and PPE and stop activities when risks arise.\n\nAct as a role model, especially for new hires, and recognize good safety practices visibly and in a timely manner.\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\nDegree or MSc in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n\nSome relevant experience in process engineering, preferably within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, food, or other regulated industrial sectors. Previous internship or placement experience is also valued.\n\nInterest in developing a career in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and process engineering.\n\nFamiliarity with fluid processing equipment such as pumps, valves, piping systems, tanks, and transfer systems is desirable.\n\nKnowledge of biopharmaceutical unit operations such as CIP/SIP, chromatography, UF/DF, bioreactors, centrifugation, HVAC, or utilities.\n\nAny exposure to engineering projects, commissioning, qualification, or process improvement activities is desirable.\n\nGood understanding of safety and quality principles; knowledge of cGMP is an advantage.\n\nSpanish and English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.\n\nPositive mindset, collaboration, customer focus, willingness to learn, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach.\n\nEvery day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people.
