We ensure continued confidence in the security of our systems, devices, identities, digital presence and data so that we can provide an outstanding retail experience and remain trusted by our customers. \nRole Purpose: \nReporting to the IT Security Team Lead, an exciting and hands-on role where you will be responsible for all aspects of security across Lookers IT, including our dealerships and online presence. \nRole Accountability:\nProviding assurance that our new and existing services remain sufficiently secure, so that we can provide an outstanding retail experience and remain trusted by our customers. \nPerforms Daily Security Operations Tasks \nOwning and addressing operational incidents, escalating as necessary \nContinuously improving operational tasks to ensure ongoing effectiveness \nActing as Subject Matter Expert for one or more of our core security technology tools \nEnsuring it remains fit for purpose \nFull lifecycle management \nTraining others in the use of it, both within the team and the wider IT community \nOwns items on the team’s backlog and roadmap \nDelivering point solutions \nAssessing wider change initiatives for security compliance \nRemediating known deficiencies \nAddressing outputs of penetration tests, purple teaming, risk and audit findings \nReviewing changes to determine the IT security impact. \nIdentification and risk assessment of newly identified vulnerabilities. \nEnforces and identifies exceptions to Lookers IT security policies, procedures, and standards. \nWork with our strategic partners, NCC, as part of the Hybrid managed XDR service. \nA member of the IT Security on-call rota. \nSupport the Head of Information & Cyber Security to deliver continuous risk-based improvements, including public-facing websites and services.\nSkills, Behaviours, Knowledge & Experience:\nPersonal Responsibility & Integrity \nManages their own workload effectively, setting realistic deadlines and reliably delivering on commitments. \nIs trusted to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information, even under pressure. \nActs openly, honestly, and transparently with colleagues and stakeholders. \nAdmits mistakes, takes ownership, and proactively learns from them. \nTakes responsibility for issues and ensures they are resolved appropriately. \nJudgement, Decision -Making & Prioritisation \nQuickly identifies urgent vs. important priorities within complex workflows, even with regular interruptions. \nUses sound judgement and a methodical approach to analyse options and make effective decisions under pressure, including knowing when to escalate. \nAnticipates the impact of plans across Lookers IT and adapts approach to manage contingencies and remove obstacles. \nUses time and resources expertly to maintain productivity and balance workloads effectively. \nCollaboration & Influence \nBuilds and maintains strong networks to gain support for key initiatives, including regular engagement with colleagues to share information and review progress. \nActs quickly and sensitively to resolve issues that may impact the delivery of objectives. \nEncourages a calm, focused, and positive working environment, especially during periods of high pressure. \nBuilds support for new ideas and initiatives, including gaining buy-in behind the scenes when needed. \nLearning, Growth & Motivation \nLearns quickly and independently, absorbing complex new concepts with ease. \nApplies learning to continuously improve processes and outcomes. \nMaintains enthusiasm and passion for their work, acting as a motivating and inspiring team member. \nSets and measures clear, realistic, and timely objectives for themselves and others. \nUnderstands appropriate workload levels for self and colleagues, planning tasks and processes to minimise stress while remaining productive. \nExperience \nA solid understanding of core IT concepts is essential.
