They provide direction to designers and drafters regarding the documentation of their designs. Provides engineering support to internal and external customers and performs other tasks as assigned.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nFunctional & Technical Skills\nTranslate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.\nDesign and integrate industrial automation and control systems including PLC controls, motor controls, and general machine controls.\nDetermine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.\nValidate designs through analysis and testing\nOperational Excellence\nCoordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team. \n BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:\nProblem Solving\nPlanning and Organizing\nValues Based\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation: BS in Electrical Engineering\nExperience: 0+ years experience in developing and maintaining electromechanical system designs.\nLicenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nWorking knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.\nCollaborate with others to clarify requirements and develop solutions.\nLead design reviews consisting of multi-disciplined and cross functional team members.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation: MS in Electrical Engineering\nExperience: 0+ years experience in the following:\n480VAC power generation and distribution\nEngine/generator controls\nIndustrial automation and controls systems\nElectrical traction systems (DC & AC)\nMotor controls and variable speed drives\n\nLicenses/Certifications: EIT\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge in Autodesk and ERP software\nPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:\nThis position requires successful completion of:\nThe subject’s name must correspond to their Social Security number and date of birth.\nCurrent and prior relevant employment experience will be verified to confirm the candidate meets the minimum required years of experience for the position.\nPost-secondary education at the associate degree level or higher will be verified, including degree(s) earned and dates of completion.\nAll applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug.
