Tasks include creating operator manuals, maintenance instructions, lockout / tagout manuals, and other technical communication materials.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:\nAssists in authoring technical content under the direct guidance of another technical writer or engineer.\nAnalyze technical specifications and performance data to develop clear and concise documentation.\nCollaborate with engineering to gather information and resolve documentation issues.\nPrepare outlines and illustrations to support technical documents.\nPerform duties and subtasks in area of discipline of low complexity for a project or projects.\n REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation: Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience: Achieved junior status or higher. The individual shall also have completed the \"core\" coursework for his/her chosen discipline.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nThe individual will learn and abide by established practices and procedures to complete assignments.\nAbility and willingness to learn the necessary tools as required for area of discipline.\nAbility and willingness to learn application and integration design skills in area of discipline.\nThis is an intern level position that requires close supervision with little to no independent work.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nStrong writing and editing skills\nStrong problem solving, communication, and analysis skills\nAbility to read and analyze engineering schematics\nExperience with AutoCAD or other 3D modeling software\nExperience with DITA or other component content management systems (CCMS)\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.
