# Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: The Technician maintains, repairs and overhauls railway vehicles and associated equipment in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, specifications, and instructions. This may include special processes and/or skills, for example, painting, welding, vehicle lifting, etc. This will involve working to a 7-day roster which shall include afternoons/nights, bank holidays and weekend shifts as required. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Functional & Technical Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul and manufacturing activity on rail vehicles and associated machinery, plant and equipment in accordance with specifications and to an acceptable standard. Investigate faults and failures, identify trends and perform effective repairs, efficiently and with minimal disruption to other activities. Read and accurately interpret drawings, technical specifications and work instructions. Work in accordance with applicable targets Maintain general knowledge of working systems and variations.
