Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.\nWho we’re looking for\nThis position will work directly with the Executive Housekeeper and help lead a large and diverse staff of Room Attendants, House Persons and Public Space Attendants. The Riggs is a historical monument to a 130+ year legacy dating back to 1891. Ornate ceilings, brass and marble adorn this 181 room hotel with one of Washington's busiest restaurants and rooftop catering venues.\nTo be considered you must thrive in a non-stop environment, possess leadership ability and have an open mind and an exceptional sense of humor. You must love finding solutions and working collaboratively within a team and proactively find new ways to create positive outcomes.\nThe ability to be adaptable, calm, resourceful and efficient is in your DNA.\nCore Essential Functions\nAssist the Director of Housekeeping in daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, systems and SOP’s.\n\nCoordinate the efficient running of the Housekeeping and Laundry/Valet departments on a daily basis.\n\nEnsure that all reports required by various offices in the hotel are submitted on a timely basis.\n\nEnsure that staff are scheduled based on rooming forecasts\n\nAssist in the ordering of all supplies to ensure that par levels are maintained and that purchasing is in line with budget.\n\nCarry out inspections of rooms, public areas and back of house areas on a regular basis to ensure that high standards are always maintained.\n\nEnsure that linen is properly controlled and ensure that quality of linen laundry service is reviewed daily.\n\nPerform and oversee administrative duties such as scheduling, payroll, purchasing and inventory management reports.\n\nParticipate in all regular and ad hoc operational meetings as required.\n\nManage projects and any other reasonable duties as required by hotel management.\n\nEnsure that disciplinary procedures are undertaken fairly and in accordance to hotel policies.\n\nEnsure operations meet all internal and external audit requirements.\n\nWork closely with Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance of all rooms and public areas as required.\n\nWork constantly with the Engineering Management team to ensure that any out of order rooms are returned to inventory expediently.\n\nThis position requires the following knowledge, skills and abilities:\nHotel Experience is not required - Fun and welcoming personality is a MUST\n\nA minimum of 1-2 years hospitality experience, especially in housekeeping, is preferred but not required\n\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. without any assistance.\n\nExcellent communication skills\n\nAble to work in a fast-paced environment\n\nFlexible schedule is required to meet the needs of the business\n\nThis position will be required to work mostly days as well as weekends.\nSalary: Starting at $60,000.00\nBenefits\nAt Riggs Washington DC we are committed to giving our employees the skills and support required to deliver extraordinary experiences, and most importantly, to grow in their careers.
