We are consumer-oriented, and we act responsibly all along the value chain.\n\nWhat You Will Do:\n\nAs a Designer within the UX Design Lab, reporting to the Head of UX Design Lab in North America, you will be a key player in shaping the future of L'Oréal's packaging, bringing an elevated innovation experience through design: desirability and sensoriality; new usage experiences and functionalities; sustainability and invoking emotions.\nYou'll also collaborate closely with a diverse team of marketing professionals, engineers, product developers, and laboratory experts, both internally and internationally, as well as external suppliers. Your work will directly impact the innovation pipeline, ensuring our packaging is not only aesthetically pleasing but also intelligent, sustainable, and technically feasible.\nYou will contribute to the UX Design Lab in North America:\nConsumer-Centric Design: You will analyze consumer needs and behaviors to create packaging solutions that meet their expectations and enhance their experience.\nAesthetic & Creative Excellence: You will leverage your creativity and understanding of brand DNA to design stunning and desirable packaging that elevates the consumer experience.\nTrend Forecasting: You will stay abreast of cosmetic and competitive trends, critically evaluating existing packaging and identifying opportunities for innovation.\nSustainable Solutions: You will proactively explore eco-responsible materials and manufacturing processes, ensuring our packaging aligns with L'Oréal's sustainability goals.\nTechnical Feasibility: You will collaborate with engineers and product developers to ensure your designs are technically feasible, cost-effective, and manufacturable.\nDesign Thinking Leadership: You will lead and participate in Design Thinking workshops and Design Sprints, driving innovation on our most ambitious projects. Co-Creation workshops with consumers: upstream sessions together with consumers, to ideate new user experiences and innovations\nPrototyping & Supplier Collaboration: You will create, and test prototypes using rapid prototyping techniques and maintain close relationships with suppliers to explore new materials and technologies.\nKey responsibilities include:\nResearch & Innovation projects: upstream R&I driven innovations, together with the Advanced Engineering team and R&I Development Labs\nPackaging projects: upstream Packaging Labs driven innovations, together with the support of all of the Packaging Labs (Advanced Engineering, Technical Design Center, Packaging Science Center, etc.)\nBrand projects: brand driven innovations, focusing to incorporate both an elevated innovation experience and sustainability through design\nDeveloping and animating the connection with Operational teams (Packaging, Development, Technical Design Center, etc.), Research & Innovation teams, and Brands.\nLeading local UX Design projects as part of the global portfolio\nCollaboration with external resources / partners including design agencies or freelancers\nIdentifying and managing fast prototyping companies / partners to create aesthetic and functional mock-ups\nWhat We Are Looking For:\nRequired Qualifications:\nA completed Bachelor’s Degree in industrial / product design and/or equivalent degree is required\n3-5 years of experience in Product Design, preferably related to beauty or consumer products is required\nIn-depth knowledge of:Understanding consumer needs; using insights and user journeys.\nUser trends on make up, skincare, haircare & color;\nCreative concepts to full innovation & brands;\nUnderstanding of basic packaging techniques and engineering constraints\n3D modeling with Rhinoceros or Solidworks\nRendering with KeyShot or equivalent; and/or other design / AI tools & technology\nBrand DNA and vision\nPackaging and manufacturing\nUnderstanding of color, material, finish as it relates to design\n\nCreative skills and design thinking\nCollaborative leadership skills\nProject Management Skills\nPrioritization & Organizational Skills\nStrong Interpersonal Skills (written and oral)\nDemonstrated L’Oréal Competencies: Leadership, Entrepreneurial Management, Achiever, and Innovator\nStrong appreciation for our business / sensitivity to the métier\nProfessional and energetic with a positive attitude\nBi-lingual (French) a plus\nAuthorization to work in the United States is required.
