LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach. \nAs an Electrical Technician, you will support the Project Manager (PM) and Commissioning Team Leads in the execution of all electrical aspects of data centre commissioning. Acting as the primary point of contact for electrical systems, infrastructure, and control systems, you will support the planning, coordination, execution, and reporting of commissioning activities across all project phases. The role requires close collaboration with project stakeholders to ensure testing is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.\nWith opportunities available across Ireland, Sweden and Finland, this role offers international project exposure, and candidates must be willing to support projects and travel between these locations as required.\nResponsibilities\nCommissioning\nExecute and support Level 2 Installation Verification Checks (IVC), Level 3 Pre-Functional Checks (PFC), Level 4 Functional Performance Testing (FPT), and Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing (IST).\nPerform troubleshooting and fault-finding activities across electrical systems, plant, and equipment.\nLog, track, and manage issues through the Automated Commissioning Management System (ACMS) - Compass.\nRespond promptly to equipment failures and plant emergencies to minimise impacts on commissioning activities.\nDevelop, review, and execute commissioning test scripts based on project specifications, System of Operation (SOO), and Description of Operation (DOO) documentation.\nSupport field works in conjunction with contractors and project stakeholders.\nReview and implement engineering changes, equipment upgrades, control philosophy updates, and specification modifications.\nProduce daily reports on testing progress, asset status, risks, failures, and delays.\nSupport the operation and testing of electrical equipment, infrastructure, BAS, and control systems.\nApply and record tamper seals and complete As-Left Settings documentation following commissioning activities.\nEnsure all electrical commissioning activities are completed to the highest quality and safety standards.\nCoordination\nCoordinate daily with Project Managers and Team Leads to prioritise and execute commissioning activities.\nParticipate in daily planning, alignment, and progress meetings.\nProvide regular updates on testing progress, issues, risks, and resource requirements.\nEscalate safety concerns and business-critical issues in accordance with established procedures.\nLiaise with clients, contractors, vendors, operations teams, and other project stakeholders.\nCoordinate activities requiring client involvement, including power switching, LOTO/LOTOTO, generator testing, utility failure testing, and validation of dual-fed systems.\nPromote effective communication, collaboration, and transparency across all project teams.\nTraining\nComplete all assigned training programmes and Engineering Work Instructions (EWIs).\nDevelop and maintain knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and commissioning processes.\nSupport the review and maintenance of project documentation and training materials.\nIdentify deficiencies in training content and recommend improvements where necessary.\nEnsure all required training is completed on time and remains up to date.\nSafety\nSupport the development and review of Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).\nMaintain and adhere to Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTO/LOTOTO) procedures and plans.\nUnderstand and follow switching plans, isolation procedures, and site safety requirements.\nComplete daily Safe Plans of Action (SPA) and ensure all personnel understand associated risks and controls.\nPromote a strong safety culture and ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with site procedures and industry standards.\nTake responsibility for the safe execution of all work under direct or indirect supervision.\nSkills Required:\nStrong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure, preferably within critical facilities or data centre environments.\nExperience in electrical commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.\nKnowledge of commissioning processes, including IVC, PFC, FPT, and IST.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and operational documentation.\nFamiliarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), control systems, and commissioning software platforms.\nKnowledge of electrical safety standards, switching procedures, and LOTO/LOTOTO processes.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.\nExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, clients, and vendors.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nProactive and self-motivated approach to work.\nStrong reporting, documentation, and issue-tracking capabilities.\nCommitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.\nWillingness to learn, adapt, and continuously develop technical expertise.\nWillingness to travel.\nEducation / Licenses / Certifications:\nQQI Level 6 Advanced Trade Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline \nProof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable\nBenefits:\nVHI Healthcare Cover\nLife Assurance\nPension Contribution\nTraining And Educational Assistance\nAnnual GP Check-Up\nExtra Annual Leave\nHealthcare Screening\nRecognition Rewards\nLotusWorks is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
