The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting manufacturing shift teams to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of batch operations.\nThis role is responsible for executing maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting manufacturing and engineering teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site. The Senior Maintenance Technician will contribute to a culture focused on Quality, Safety, Learning, Reliability, and Operational Excellence while ensuring equipment performance supports the delivery of life-changing medicines to patients.\nThis is a 12-month contract position operating on a shift-based schedule, supporting manufacturing teams to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of batch operations.\nResponsibilities\nMaintenance & Technical Support\nSupport compliant manufacturing operations through the effective execution of the site's maintenance programme.\nPerform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities within a GMP-regulated environment.\nExecute maintenance activities using the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\nTroubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.\nRead and interpret Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) schematic drawings.\nDiagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, and automation-related faults.\nInteract with and support automation systems including DeltaV, Building Automation Systems (BAS), PLCs, and associated manufacturing control systems.\nAct as a subject matter expert on process equipment, providing technical support and rapid fault-finding assistance.\nOperational Excellence & Continuous Improvement\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives relating to production equipment and maintenance processes.\nPromote a \"Safety First, Quality Always\" mindset across all maintenance activities.\nIdentify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance, and maintainability.\nDevelop clear problem statements and support root cause investigations to resolve equipment, quality, and safety challenges.\nCollaborate across engineering and manufacturing departments to implement sustainable improvements.\nMaintain a proactive approach to learning, technical development, and process enhancement.\nPlanning & Coordination\nWork closely with Planning and Scheduling teams to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, compliantly, and right first time.\nCoordinate maintenance activities with engineering, operations, vendors, and contractors as required.\nEnsure permits, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), spare parts, tools, and resources are prepared ahead of maintenance activities.\nComplete detailed and effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations.\nCommunicate effectively with stakeholders regarding maintenance priorities, equipment status, and operational risks.\nSafety, Quality & Compliance\nEnsure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, site procedures, and EHS requirements.\nSupport site Emergency Response Team activities and emergency preparedness initiatives.\nPromote a strong compliance culture through adherence to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.\nEnsure documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.\nSupport audits, inspections, and maintenance compliance activities as required.\nSkills Required\nStrong knowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices within regulated manufacturing environments.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics.\nExperience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and automation systems.\nFamiliarity with DeltaV, BAS, PLCs, and other industrial automation platforms.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach.\nAbility to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a shift-based team structure.\nDemonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nExperience using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and CMMS platforms such as Maximo and SAP.\nAbility to coach, mentor, and support team members to achieve high performance.\nEducation / Licenses / Certifications\nTrade qualification, apprenticeship, technician qualification, or equivalent engineering certification in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related discipline.\nMinimum of 3 years' experience within the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or similar regulated manufacturing industry.\nDemonstrated technical experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.\nLotusWorks is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
