LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach. \nThe Quality and Commissioning Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting and executing mechanical quality control and commissioning activities within a semiconductor manufacturing facility and other mission-critical environments. This role ensures that mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with design intent, client standards, and applicable codes, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and operational readiness.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep facilities engineering or maintenance experience within the semiconductor industry, combined with hands-on commissioning exposure, and is comfortable working in active construction, startup, and operational environments.\nResponsibilities:\nCommissioning & Functional Testing\nSupport and execute the commissioning process for data center and semiconductor facility mechanical systems to ensure systems, components, and equipment operate efficiently and meet design specifications.\nConduct functional performance testing (FPT) of mechanical and other critical systems in accordance with project commissioning plans, procedures, and client requirements.\nVerify that installed equipment and systems meet design intent, project specifications, and applicable regulatory and industry standards.\nRisk Assessment & Safety\nPerform project risk assessments prior to the execution of major testing and commissioning activities.\nImplement appropriate control measures to mitigate risk during system startup, testing, and functional performance activities.\nMaintain a strong safety-first mindset and ensure compliance with site EHS policies, LOTO procedures, and safe commissioning practices.\nField Coordination & Stakeholder Interface\nDevelop and maintain strong professional relationships with contractors, vendors, controls teams, and field personnel to support successful commissioning execution.\nCoordinate field activities to resolve installation, testing, and performance issues efficiently.\nSupport troubleshooting of mechanical system deficiencies in collaboration with construction, commissioning, and operations teams.\nSystems & Technical Scope\nSupport commissioning activities across a range of mechanical systems typically found in semiconductor and mission-critical facilities, including but not limited to:\nHVAC systems and mechanical utilities\nChillers, cooling towers, pumps, and hydronic systems\nExhaust and ventilation systems\nFire protection systems (awareness level)\nInterfaces with security and life-safety systems (as applicable)\nDemonstrate a solid working understanding of mechanical and/or electrical equipment and design concepts used in data centers and semiconductor facilities.\nControls & Monitoring\nUtilize EPMS, SCADA, and/or BMS systems to support testing, verification, alarm validation, and system performance monitoring.\nCoordinate with controls and instrumentation teams to verify proper sensor installation, control logic, alarms, and trending during commissioning.\nDocumentation & Communication\nDocument test results, deficiencies, observations, and resolutions in a clear, accurate, and professional manner.\nSupport preparation and maintenance of commissioning documentation, including test scripts, reports, redlines, and turnover packages.\nProvide clear status updates and technical input to project stakeholders as required.\nAny other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. \nSkills Required:\nMinimum 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or maintenance within the semiconductor industry.\nMinimum 2 years of hands-on commissioning experience in mission-critical or high-technology facilities.\nStrong understanding of mechanical systems used in semiconductor fabs and/or data centers.\nExperience supporting functional performance testing and system verification activities.\nDemonstrated safety awareness and experience working under strict EHS requirements.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nHigh attention to detail with a commitment to quality and documentation standards.\nExperience with EPMS, SCADA, and/or BMS platforms (software and/or hardware).\nFamiliarity with both mechanical and electrical systems integration in mission-critical facilities.\nExperience with HVAC, fire protection, security systems, and life-safety interfaces in data center or fab environments.\nPrior experience working in cleanroom or high-purity environments.\nEducation / Licenses / Certifications\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (highly desirable, not required).\nHigh School Diploma required.\nTrade certifications are an advantage.\nProof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required
