To know more about Lowe's India, visit Lowes.co.in\n Job Summary\nThe Senior Analyst - Accounting Analytics & Reporting is responsible for partnering with Accounting leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, data-driven analytics and reporting solutions supporting the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) Office.\nThis role combines accounting and financial analysis with strong technical and analytical capabilities to ensure accurate reporting, strengthen controls, improve operational visibility, and enable informed business decision-making.\nThe Senior Analyst will independently analyze complex datasets, identify trends and exceptions, investigate accounting and operational issues, and develop scalable reporting and automation solutions. The role will also partner with business and technology teams to translate requirements into effective analytical solutions and identify opportunities to modernize and improve existing accounting processes.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform accounting and financial analysis using large and complex datasets to identify trends, exceptions, variances, risks, and opportunities.\nSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities through reconciliations, accrual and journal-entry support, variance analysis, data validation, and analytical review.\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance recurring accounting reports, dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting solutions.\nTranslate accounting and operational data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for Accounting leadership and business stakeholders.\nPerform reconciliations and data validations to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of accounting and financial information.\nIndependently investigate accounting and data discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and partner with appropriate stakeholders to drive timely resolution.\nSupport and strengthen accounting controls, governance, compliance, and reporting accuracy through data-driven analysis and monitoring.\nIdentify opportunities to automate and modernize manual accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and analytical processes to improve efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and operational controls.\nDesign and develop scalable analytics, reporting, and automation solutions using SQL, Power BI, Excel, Python, and other data and automation technologies.\nPartner with Accounting stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess technical feasibility, and translate requirements into effective analytical and reporting solutions.\nProvide analytical support for ad-hoc business requests, special projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.\nCollaborate with business and technology teams on data, reporting, system modernization, automation, and process-enhancement initiatives.\nMaintain appropriate documentation of business rules, reporting methodologies, data definitions, processes, controls, and analytical solutions.\nPresent analytical findings, risks, recommendations, and proposed solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nProvide analytical and technical guidance to team members and business partners and contribute to the adoption of analytics and automation best practices across Accounting.\nRequired Minimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Analytics, Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related field.\n5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting Analytics, Financial Analytics, Reporting & Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related analytical function.\nDemonstrated experience analyzing large and complex datasets and translating analysis into actionable business insights.\nExperience working with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams across locations.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend solutions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPostgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.\nExperience supporting Accounting or Finance functions in a large enterprise environment.\nExperience with accounting processes including reconciliations, financial close, journal entries, variance analysis, financial controls, and management reporting.\nExperience with process automation, reporting modernization, and development of scalable analytical solutions.\nPrimary Skills - Must Have\nBusiness Requirements & Analytical Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex accounting and business requirements, translate business questions into analytical requirements, identify appropriate data sources, perform root-cause analysis, and develop scalable data-driven solutions.\nSQL & Data Analysis: Strong SQL expertise with experience working with large and complex datasets, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, DDL/DML, stored procedures, query optimization, and data transformations.\nPython & Automation: Strong working knowledge of Python for data analysis, data transformation, automation, scripting, reconciliation, and development of custom analytical and process solutions.\nPower BI, DAX & Data Modeling: Strong experience developing end-to-end Power BI solutions, including data modeling, relationships, measures, DAX, Power Query, dashboard development, visualization, and reporting. Ability to translate complex datasets and business requirements into intuitive dashboards and actionable insights.\n Data Platforms & Databases: Experience working with enterprise data platforms and relational databases, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP)/BigQuery, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. Ability to identify, integrate, validate, and analyze data across multiple data sources.\nData Validation & Reconciliation: Experience performing data validation, reconciliations, exception analysis, and control checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial and accounting reporting.\nWorkflow & Data Pipeline Automation: Experience developing, scheduling, or supporting automated data and reporting workflows using technologies such as Alteryx/Knime, Apache Airflow/DAGs, Python, or similar orchestration and automation tools.\nMicrosoft Power Platform: Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Query, and SharePoint for developing workflow, reporting, and process-automation solutions.\nExcel: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex data analysis, financial/accounting analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and automation.\nCommunication & Data Storytelling: Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights, recommendations, dashboards, and presentations for Accounting leadership and technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nSecondary / Preferred Technical Skills\nExperience with ETL and data-transformation tools such as KNIME and/or Alteryx.\nExperience developing automated workflows and modernizing manual accounting and reporting processes.\nFamiliarity with cloud-based data
