This role develops detailed production schedules aligned with short-term plans and manages customer order demand in line with capacities and production schedule dates. The Production Planner aims to optimize production efficiency considering all related resources and constraints such as changeover times, sequencing, raw materials availability, and optimal batch sizes. This role monitors schedule adherence and proactively adapts plans to mitigate risks and resource constraints, identifying root causes and supporting resolutions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nChampion Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values by demonstrating the behaviors that contribute to Lozier’s success.\nCollaborate to convert short-term master production schedules (MPS) into detailed production schedules, considering operational efficiency, constraints, and agreements to ensure an executable schedule.\nDevelop and maintain daily production schedules for assigned constraints or areas.\nManage open work orders and discrete jobs and follow up to keep them updated and closed on time.\nMonitor production schedules and manage past due reporting; collaborate with shop floor teams to identify root causes of delays and reschedule past due orders as appropriate.\nProvide feedback to the cross-functional supply chain team on required master data changes.\nUpdate manufacturing calendar with preventive maintenance, holidays, and planned downtime.\nContinuously monitor local inventory and communicate any relevant deviations, accuracy variances, shipment or movement delays, and quality release time variances.\nMonitor, analyze, and communicate schedule adherence and make course corrections when unexpected production, resource, material supply, or quality issues arise, and determine if rescheduling is necessary.\nContinuously monitor planning parameters, BOM accuracy, raw materials, sub-assembly availability or substitutes and escalate issues appropriately.\nTrack output in terms of quantity and quality according to schedule.\nTrack and participate in capacity usage and communicate information that may impact capacity availability, rates, or consistent variances in production factors or output.\nMaintain effective communication and teamwork with all cross-functional partners and participate in assigned tier meetings.\nParticipate in regular Gemba Walks observing capacity constraint usage, resource availability, material flows and order accuracy maintenance to capture operational feedback for continuous improvement.\nParticipate in and support continuous improvement initiatives focusing on product availability, capacity improvement and efficiencies, inventory reduction, and other operational subjects.\nCollaborate cross-functionally on ERP system modifiers, time fences, and other master data to ensure they are set to accurately reflect how plant production is running.\nDemonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.\nAbility to work and interact well with others.\nOTHER JOB FUNCTIONS\nProvide back-up coverage as needed.\nAssist on other special projects as assigned.\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation: Bachelor degree supply chain, business, engineering or another related field preferred.\nExperience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supply chain, scheduling, or inventory control role, if degreed. Minimum of 6 years of experience in a supply chain, scheduling, or inventory control role, if non-degreed. Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.\nRequired Skills:\nBasic PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).\nProduction planning and scheduling experience.\nInventory management knowledge and experience.\nKnowledge of BOM purpose, typical structure/content, creation, maintenance and use.\nExperience with performance indicators, scorecards, and relationships between metrics and processes.\nDemonstrated examples of conflict resolution in the working environment.\nStrong problem-solving skills to identify risks and develop the appropriate responses\nCommunication across various levels of the organization.\nUnderstanding of MPS methodologies and techniques and use in material requirements planning systems. \nAbility to analyze data and relate to shop floor performance and production scheduling.\nPreferred Skills:\nSupply Chain ERP experience.\nOracle EBS 12.2.6 or greater preferred.\nDeep knowledge of plant processes, lines, and products.\nSales and Operations Planning (S&OP).\nLean manufacturing, Six Sigma.\nDemand management of raw materials and production capacity.\nOracle WIP Manufacturing, MPS modules.\nSPECIAL DEMANDS\nAbility to work in a manufacturing setting, upstairs, downstairs, and factory floor.\nThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
