A willingness to continuously develop your technical knowledge and support the growth of others will be essential in this role.\nWhat we offer you\nThe opportunity to work for an organization that has a clear sense of purpose, is guided by values and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes\nFull-time role\nThe role\nConduct relevant activities and provide advice for service delivery within own area of experience, adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements. \nProduce deliverables within agreed parameters, in the defined format, and to the required time, budget, and quality standards. \nDiscuss and present deliverables to internal and external clients, suggesting solutions where appropriate. \nConduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards. \nPursue continuous professional development and maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. \nAssess or recommend the time and value of work to be undertaken for external clients, assisting in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure. \nProvide guidance to other employees, as appropriate, and disseminate information to support effective knowledge transfer and application. \nAssist in improving service delivery by communicating internal and external client feedback, as appropriate. \nEnsure the appropriate authorisations are obtained and kept up to date. \nUndertake routine administrative activities in line with current processes and procedures. \nFor the electrical specialisation, carry out classification and statutory surveys and technical reviews of marine electrical systems in line with approved plans, LR Rules, statutory requirements, recognised standards, and agreed survey procedures, within the applicable scope of authorisation. \nSupport complex or non-routine electrical issues by liaising with plan approval, technical specialists, and other survey disciplines, escalating matters when they are outside own authorisation or experience. \nContribute to knowledge sharing and capability development within the local survey team on electrical survey practices, common findings, new technologies, and lessons learned from service delivery\nWhat you bring\nA degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer. \nMembership of an appropriate professional institution. \nWorking toward or obtaining charted or incorporated engineering status \nWork in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01. \nUse a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology. \nBe able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems and services. \nProvide technical and commercial management, e.g. project management, process management. \nProficiency in the English language commensurate with the work. \nElectrical engineering qualification, or equivalent marine electrical experience, with sound understanding of shipboard electrical systems. \nWorking knowledge of applicable classification rules, statutory requirements, and established standards relating to marine electrical systems, including SOLAS-related electrical safety requirements and relevant IEC-based marine electrical practices, where applicable to the work scope, with willingness to build authorisation and skill level progressively.\nYou are someone who\nIs keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs\nIs able to self-manage and prioritize tasks to meet goals\nIs effective at solving problems, trouble-shooting and making timely decisions\nIs motivated and willing to take initiatives\nCommunicates in a structured way and has ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language\nDisplays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment\nResponds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone\n#LI-KC1 #LI-Hybrid\nAbout us\nWe are a leading international technical professional service provider and a leader in classification, compliance, and consultancy services to the marine and offshore industry, a trusted advisor to our customers helping to design, construct and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance.
