The role will support funding round administration, application management, assessment coordination, grant set-up, monitoring, reporting and learning activities.\nThe Small Grants Schemeprovides accessible, proportionate funding to support organisations and projects aligned with the Foundation's mission and strategic priorities.\nThe post holder will help maintain a high-quality, proportionate and applicant-friendly small grants process, ensuring that information, records, communications and internal coordination are clear, timely and well organised.\nThe role will primarily focus on coordinating and delivering the our small grants programme and will provide additional support in the delivery of the Foundation's internal funding initiatives and other activity related to our skills and education portfolio. From time to time, the postholder may also contribute to other activities across the Foundation, as appropriate to the role and organisational priorities.\nWhat we offer you\nFixed term employment of 12 months\nCompetitive Salary\nHybrid and flexible work schedules with an appreciation for work-life balance\nWorking in a global company with the ability to work with different cultures and diverse people\nThe opportunity to work for an organization that has a strong sense of purpose, is values-driven and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programs\nExcellent benefits package including 26 days holiday pro rata per annum, plus flexible bank holidays, bonus scheme, company funded PMI, EAP & discount scheme\nThe Role\nSmall grants programme delivery:\nSupport the planning and coordination of all small grants funding rounds, ensuring activities, deadlines and key milestones are effectively managed.\nAct as a consistent point of contact for applicant, reviewer and grant holder enquiries, providing clear and timely responses and escalating issues where appropriate.\nSupport the application and assessment process, including reviewer set-up, reviewer guidance, scoring processes, moderation preparation and decision-making support.\nWork closely with the Grants Team to ensure application records, approvals, grant set-up, contracting information and Salesforce records are accurate and up to date.\nSupport the production and maintenance of guidance notes, FAQs, application materials and web content, working closely with the Communications Team so the scheme remains accessible and easy to navigate.\nCoordinate internal meetings, decisions and follow-up actions relating to the small grant s programme, ensuring responsibilities and deadlines are clearly recorded.\nSupport practical improvements to the programme’s processes, guidance and delivery based on operational learning and stakeholder feedback.\nMaintain programme documentation, records and handover materials to support continuity and knowledge management during the maternity cover period.\nPartner for Purpose:\nSupport the continued development, promotion and delivery of Partner for Purpose, a recently reintroduced employee engagement and internal funding initiative that enables employees to support non-profit organisations aligned with the Foundation’s mission and priorities. This will include coordinating funding rounds and employee engagement activities, while building awareness, participation and impact across the organisation.\nCoordinate enquiries, applications and applicant guidance, liaising with employees, applicants and grant holders to provide clear and consistent support.\nSupport grant assessment, communications, reporting and record keeping, working closely with the Senior Programme Manager, Engagement Manager and Grants Team.\nNEST - Network to Engineer a Safer Tomorrow:\nSupport the Senior Programme Manager in maintaining the Foundation’s relationship with the NEST community of students, graduates and early-career professionals.\nIdentify and coordinate opportunities for future engagement, including links with the Ambassadors Programme where relevant.\nMaintain relevant records, contacts and follow-up actions to support continuity and effective internal coordination.\nProgramme and portfolio support:\nSupport the Senior Programme Manager with portfolio reporting, briefing notes, presentation materials and programme updates across the relevant areas of work, working with the Communications Team where needed.\nSupport the capture of learning, outcomes, impact examples and case studies from funded projects, working with the Communications Team to inform reporting, communications and future programme development.\nSupport information requests, briefing materials, knowledge management and cross-programme learning across the Foundation’s small grants programme and wider skills and education portfolio.\nUndertake any other responsibilities commensurate with the grade and nature of the role.\nWhat you bring\nTechnical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements\nProgramme, project or grant coordination experience, ideally in a grant making, research, education, charitable, social impact or programme delivery environment.\nGrant-making experience and/or knowledge of engineering or engineering-related sectors is desirable but not essential.\nUnderstanding of, or interest in, the Foundation's mission and how engineering can contribute to safer, more resilient societies.\nExperience supporting funding rounds, application processes, stakeholder communications or comparable assessment processes.\nExcellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple timelines, records, actions, applicants, reviewers and stakeholder requests.\nStrong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear guidance, FAQs, briefings, feedback summaries, reports and presentation materials.\nStrong attention to detail and confidence working with programme data, assessment information, grant records, reports and internal systems.\nAbility to synthesise information from multiple sources and identify patterns, issues, lessons and practical improvements.\nGood stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to build constructive relationships across teams and respond clearly to queries.\nConfidence using Microsoft 365 tools and internal systems, with experience of Salesforce or grant management systems desirable.\nAbility to work independently on agreed tasks, prioritise effectively and know when to escalate issues.\nProactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.\n\n#LI-KC1\n#LI-Hybrid\nAbout us \nLloyd’s Register Foundation is an independent global charity with a unique structure and an important mission: engineering a safer world.
