Our prevention, intervention and treatment programs spread the message that there is hope and that substance misuse and addiction are preventable and treatable.\nAs a Patient Support Specialist, the primary duty is to monitor and facilitate the integration of behavioral health services in a medical sub-acute withdrawal management treatment setting. Under regular supervision of the Director, the incumbent works with patients to provide services on the Detox withdrawal management unit. Primary job duties performed include: point of entry admission, patient orientation, therapeutic supervision, taking and recording of vital signs, crisis stabilization, life-skills building, and recovery support.\nPosition Logistics\n12.5 Hour Shifts \nWednesday: 6:45am-7:15pm\nShift differential of $2.00 for hours worked on Saturday & Sunday and between 7:00 pm-7:00 am\nAble to pick up additional shifts/coverage up to 29 hours per week\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:\nPatient Support:\nFacilitate patient admissions, to include: conducting a thorough contraband search of patients and their belongings; recording and secure belongings; and orienting patients to the Unit and their assigned rooms. \nMonitors patient progress, identifies patient needs, and maintains clinical documentation per established guidelines. \nProvides individual and group services, as directed, to address patient needs. \nProvide supervision of patients during meals, activities, on the patio and on walks. \nEnsure patients are in attendance for group services. \nObtain and record vital signs and weight as required. \nComplete initial screenings (phone and walk-in) and record information, as needed.\nPrepare patient and belongings for discharge. \nAdministrative:\nConduct and document hourly room checks to ensure patient safety. \nMaintain Day Room areas for cleanliness, supplies and snacks. \nPrepare patient admission packets. \nPrior Authorization Management\nCoordinates all initial prior authorization requests for Withdrawal Management ensuring timely response.\nSubmit prior authorization payer responses to the utilization department in a timely manner.\nVerify insurance benefits.\nMinimum Education and/or Experience\nHigh School diploma or GED required. Experience in the field of addiction is highly desired.\nHighly prefer lived experience in recovery and/or Certified Peer Support.\nPlease complete the online application to include all current and previous employment history and education.
