You will conduct third-party, second-party, and bespoke audits against internationally recognized standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, helping clients improve quality, environmental performance, occupational health & safety, compliance, and operational resilience. As a trusted assurance professional, you will represent LRQA's commitment to technical excellence, integrity, and client value.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlan, lead, and deliver management system assessments in accordance with LRQA procedures, accreditation requirements, and applicable international standards.\nConduct audits against ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and bespoke assurance programmes.\nLead multidisciplinary audit teams, ensuring assessments are completed effectively, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.\nEvaluate compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide value-added insights to clients.\nPrepare clear, accurate, and professional assessment reports and audit conclusions.\nMaintain strong client relationships while demonstrating technical excellence and professionalism.\nKeep current with industry regulations, legislation, standards, and best practices.\nSupport business growth by identifying potential client opportunities and communicating market intelligence to internal teams.\nMentor and support developing assessors and contribute to technical calibration activities.\nMaintain competency records and participate in ongoing professional development activities.\nWhat You'll Bring\nQualifications\nDegree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nSuccessful completion of Lead Auditor/Lead Assessor training for:ISO 9001\nISO 14001\nISO 45001\n\nExperience\nExisting IMS Assessor or Lead Assessor with a recognized certification body; or\nExperienced management systems assessor seeking to expand competency across the IMS portfolio.\nPractical industry experience within medium to high-risk sectors such as:Chemical and Process Industries\nRefineries and Petrochemical Facilities\nManufacturing and Heavy Engineering\nSteel and Metal Processing\nInfrastructure and Construction Projects\n\nTechnical Knowledge\nStrong understanding of Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies.\nKnowledge of Environmental Management Systems, including environmental compliance, emissions, wastewater, waste management, and environmental impact assessment.\nKnowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems, including risk assessment, process safety management, permit-to-work systems, hazardous substances, machinery safety, fire safety, and occupational hygiene.\nFamiliarity with methodologies such as HAZOP, FTA, ETA, and FMECA is highly desirable.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong auditing, interviewing, and investigation skills.\nExcellent report writing and analytical capabilities.\nStrong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.\nAbility to work independently and lead audit teams.\nEffective planning, organization, and time management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nDesirable Certifications\nISO 50001 Lead Auditor\nISO 55001 Lead Auditor\nAdditional management system auditing qualifications relevant to industrial sectors\nProfessional Attributes\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality.\nConfident working across diverse industrial sectors and client environments.\nCommitted to continuous learning, technical excellence, and delivering exceptional client value.\nWho are LRQA?\nLRQA is a leading global assurance partner, combining deep industry expertise with innovative solutions to help organizations manage risk, improve performance, and drive sustainable growth.\nOperating in over 50 countries with a team of 2,500+ professionals, we support more than 60,000 clients worldwide through assurance, certification, cybersecurity, inspection, and training services.
