Custom Manufacturing Services.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Laboratory Analyst – Chemist\n\nLocation: Lagos\n\nEmployment Type: Full-time\n\nJob Summary\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and analytical Chemist to join its laboratory team.\nThe ideal candidate will have practical analytical laboratory experience and a strong commitment to quality, safety and compliance with approved testing procedures.\nThe successful candidate will conduct chemical and physicochemical testing, prepare samples and reagents, operate analytical equipment and ensure results are accurate, traceable and delivered within agreed turnaround times.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nWork with the Laboratory Manager and wider laboratory team to improve testing efficiency and service quality.\nAssist with internal and external audits, non-conformity investigations and corrective actions.\nMonitor reagent and consumable stock levels and report procurement requirements.\nPrepare reagents, standards, solutions and calibration materials in accordance with approved methods.\nMaintain laboratory cleanliness, safety and equipment readiness.\nSupport method verification, validation, quality control and proficiency testing.\nReceive, prepare and analyse samples for chemical and physicochemical testing.\nMaintain sample traceability, worksheets, equipment logs and technical records.\nRecord, calculate, interpret and report results accurately.\nPerform titrimetric, gravimetric, spectrophotometric and other appropriate analytical procedures.\nUse analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, AAS and titration systems where applicable.\nOperate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, as appropriate to training and competence.\nFollow approved methods, laboratory SOPs, GLP and relevant ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.\nEnsure safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste.\nConduct testing on food, water, environmental, industrial and other relevant sample types.\n\nRequirements\n\nGood numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExperience operating analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR or AAS is an advantage.\nPractical experience in chemical or physicochemical testing and sample preparation.\nKnowledge of analytical methods, laboratory quality control and result interpretation.\nStrong attention to detail and accurate technical documentation.\nMembership of the relevant professional body, such as IPAN where applicable, and a valid practising licence or professional authorisation are strong advantages.\nBSc or HND in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related discipline.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively while meeting testing deadlines.\nMinimum of 3 years' relevant hands-on analytical laboratory experience.\nUnderstanding of GLP, laboratory SOPs and ISO/IEC 17025 principles.\nGood
