Custom Manufacturing Services.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Laboratory Analyst – Microbiologist\n\nLocation: Lagos\n\nEmployment Type: Full-time\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe role is suited to a practical microbiology professional who can follow approved methods, produce reliable results and work effectively within a quality-focused testing laboratory.\nThe successful candidate will conduct microbiological testing, prepare samples and culture media, maintain accurate laboratory records and support quality assurance activities.\nLS Scientific is looking for a competent and detail-oriented Microbiologist to join its laboratory team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nConduct microbial enumeration, isolation, identification and pathogen detection using approved methods.\nMonitor microbiology consumables and report stock or equipment requirements.\nCarry out aseptic techniques, incubation, sterilisation and environmental monitoring where applicable.\nReport technical issues and results requiring further review to the Laboratory Manager.\nSupport method verification, validation, proficiency testing and other quality assurance activities.\nFollow laboratory safety, contamination control and biological waste disposal procedures.\nPrepare culture media, reagents and laboratory materials in accordance with approved procedures.\nOperate, clean and maintain microbiological laboratory equipment.\nMaintain sample traceability, worksheets, records and technical documentation.\nPerform microbiological testing of food, water, environmental, pharmaceutical and other relevant samples.\nProvide reasonable support with chemistry analysis when required, including temporarily assisting with relevant duties while the laboratory team is being expanded, subject to appropriate training, competence and authorisation.\nRecord, interpret and report test results accurately and within agreed turnaround times.\nReceive, prepare and analyse samples for microbiological testing.\nAssist with laboratory audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement.\nFollow laboratory SOPs, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), quality control procedures and relevant ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.\n\nRequirements\n\nMinimum of 3 years' relevant hands-on laboratory experience.\nBSc or HND in Microbiology or a closely related discipline.\nKnowledge of microbial enumeration, isolation, identification and pathogen detection.\nStrong record-keeping, organisation and communication skills.\nPractical experience in microbiological testing, sample preparation and laboratory documentation.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a laboratory team.\nGood attention to detail and the ability to follow technical procedures accurately.\nMembership of the relevant professional body, such as IPAN where applicable, and a valid practising licence or professional authorisation are strong advantages.\nExperience with culture media preparation, aseptic techniques, incubation and sterilisation.\nUnderstanding of laboratory quality control, GLP and ISO/IEC 17025 principles.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified
