As part of this centralisation, we have created an exciting new opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Central Finance team.Based within our Newcastle upon Tyne office, you’ll lead our Accounts Payable operation and a small team, while playing an important role in embedding effective processes, controls and ways of working within the new Finance Hub.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nReporting to the Head of Finance Operations, you will:\nLead the day-to-day Accounts Payable operation, ensuring an accurate, efficient and service-focused approach.\nManage and develop the AP team, setting clear expectations and supporting performance and development.\nOversee invoices, credit notes, expenses, credit card transactions, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.\nMaintain strong financial controls across the purchase-to-pay process.\nManage escalated supplier and internal queries, ensuring timely and professional resolution.\nSupport month-end and year-end activities, reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements.\nMonitor workloads, backlogs, risks and service levels.\nIdentify opportunities to improve and standardise processes, systems and ways of working.\nSupport wider change as the Newcastle Finance Hub continues to develop.\nWhat we’re looking for\nStrong Accounts Payable or transactional finance experience.\nGood knowledge of end-to-end purchase-to-pay processes.\nExperience supervising, coordinating or developing others within a finance team.\nExperience of invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, payment runs and resolving escalated queries.\nGood understanding of financial controls, approval processes and segregation of duties.\nExperience supporting month-end activities and audit requirements.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nConfident communication and stakeholder management skills.\nGood finance systems and Microsoft Excel skills.\nExperience in a shared services, multi-entity or high-volume environment would be advantageous.\nExperience of Sun Finance and Proactis would be desirable.\nAAT qualified, part-qualified or working towards AAT or a similar finance qualification would be advantageous.\nWhy join LSL?\nJoin a newly centralised Finance Hub and help shape how our Accounts Payable service develops.\nTake ownership of a key finance operation with the opportunity to improve processes and ways of working.\nLead and develop a team within a changing and evolving finance environment.\nWork collaboratively with colleagues across Finance, Procurement and the wider LSL Group.\nBe part of a major UK property services group at an exciting stage in the development of its finance operations.\nLocation: Newcastle upon Tyne -
