You will be able to access and complete the application through “My Draft Applications” located on your Candidate Home page.\nJob Posting Title:\nMathematics Tutor (part-time)Position Type:\nOther AcademicDepartment:\nLSUE AA - Sciences (Billy Fontenot (00000861))Work Location:\nLSU - EunicePay Grade:\nProfessionalJob Description:\nJob Summary:\nLSUE seeks a part-time Mathematics Tutor.\nThis is an Other Academic, staff position that assists students in freshman and sophomore level mathematics courses in the Mathematics Tutoring Center.\nThis includes one-on-one help with topics and assistance with online homework.\nAn incumbent is needed with availability at some point between the hours of 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday through Friday, and may work up to 30 hours per week based on incumbent availability and departmental need.\nJob Responsibilities:\n80% Work with various constituencies who use the laboratory and computerized classrooms by doing the following:\nTutor students who are enrolled in Pre-Algebra, Introductory Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, or Applied College Algebra\nHelp students sign in and out of the laboratory\nHelp students with online platforms such as myLSUE, myCourses, MyMathLab, or other course software\nGive passwords and actively maintain academic integrity while students are taking assessments in the laboratory\nProvide a welcoming learning environment in the laboratory \n20%Oversee day to day laboratory operations\nManage technical issues and inoperable equipment\nHelp schedule operating hours\nTrain student assistants and oversee their time\nMaintain and track laboratory and classroom usage data\nCommunicate with the Dean of the Division of Sciences and Mathematics to identify potential problems and work load needs\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Division of Sciences and Mathematics\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelors in Mathematics or other applicable degree from a regionally accredited academic institution, with credit in College Algebra and Trigonometry\nExperience working with students at either a high school or higher education institution \nCurrent bachelor's degree students who have passed Algebra and Trigonometry may apply\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Mathematics Education (courses through Differential Calculus)\n3 years of experience teaching high school or higher education mathematics instruction.
