The beamline provides variable-polarization VUV and soft X-ray light to the state-of-the-art Aberration-Corrected SPELEEΜ microscope. The team consists of six members - three scientists, two postdocs, and a technician, who are actively driving multiple research and development projects within magnetism, 2D materials, surface science, and industrial applications.\nWould you like to work at one of the brightest lightsources in the world? \nYour main work tasks will be\nEnsure the robust, optimal day-to-day operation of the beamline, including all instruments, software, and adjacent facilities, and prepare it for the planned user experiments.\nProvide support to the users during the setup and execution of beamline experiments.\nOrganise the constant availability of technical infrastructure and work towards improvements for a user-friendly beamline.\nContribute to the continuous development and implementation of methods and beamline instrumentation.\nCarry out procurements for developing and maintaining the technical infrastructure.\nTogether with the beamline lead, perform proposal feasibility checks.\nCommunicate with the beamline team members and other relevant staff at MAX IV and external partners.\nCommunicate to the existing and potential new users the current capabilities and the upgrade plans of the beamline.\nCreate and maintain beamline documentations.\nHave a solid knowledge of the general and organizational safety rules and requirements, and instruct users and team members.\nPursue own research program in collaboration with users or members of team and acquire external funding.\nPlay an active role in the development of the research portfolio of the beamline.\nSupervise temporary staff (PostDocs, PhD, and Master students).\nTo be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications\nPhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related area.\nDemonstrated experience in performing experiments, with soft x-ray synchrotron-based techniques within fields of magnetism, ferroelectricity, 2D materials, surface science, or related.\nA good track record of published articles in peer-reviewed journals highlighting findings from your research and experimental activities.\nDemonstrated experience in performing experiments with photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM) or low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM).\nExperience in programming (e.g., Python, C++, Matlab, Igor Pro, or other) for data analysis.\nExperience in using and maintaining ultrahigh vacuum instrumentation.\nDemonstrated ability to work independently.\nExcellent command of the English language, good communication, and teamwork skills.\nBelow are seen as merits\nHands-on experience with photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM) or low-energy electron microscopy (LEEM).\nExperience in programming for automation or data acquisition.\nExperience in user support at synchrotrons.\nWhat we offer\nWhen you join our MAX IV team, you step into a world of cutting-edge science.
