Qualified applicants may be contacted as opportunities arise.\nJob Summary\nThe Network Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the APCSS network infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and cybersecurity of network operations, directly supporting the Center’s mission of advancing regional and global security through education, collaboration, and research.\nKey Responsibilities\nAdminister and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. \nManage and maintain structured patch panel and cable systems to ensure organized, efficient, and scalable network infrastructure. \nPerform regular audits and documentation of cabling to support compliance, troubleshooting, and future upgrades. \nImplement best practices for labeling, routing, and securing network cables to minimize downtime and optimize performance. \nConfigure, monitor, and maintain 802.1X authentication for secure network access across wired and wireless environments. \nAdminister and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and policy enforcement. \nSupport and manage Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) environments for segmentation and automation. \nConfigure and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, VPNs, and threat prevention features. \nManage and troubleshoot Cisco NX-OS-based switches for data center networking and advanced Layer 2/Layer 3 configurations. \nMonitor network traffic and bandwidth usage, optimizing resources for performance and availability. \nImplement and manage network security measures, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). \nConduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and security assessments to mitigate threats. \nConfigure, install, and upgrade network devices and firmware. \nTroubleshoot connectivity issues and respond promptly to outages to maintain operational readiness. \nManage user accounts, permissions, and network access controls, ensuring compliance with DoD requirements. \nSupport and enforce identity management practices, including MFA and privileged access control. \nMaintain accurate documentation of network topologies, device configurations, and security policies. \nProvide training and technical support to IT staff and end users on network best practices. \nStay current with evolving network technologies and DoD cybersecurity requirements to strengthen resilience. \nRequired Qualifications\nClearance: Active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain). \nEducation: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field;
