This role is responsible for helping protect sensitive systems and data by implementing cybersecurity controls, monitoring for threats, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and frameworks.\nThe Cyber Security Specialist works closely with IT staff and the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to maintain a secure, compliant, and resilient IT environment supporting a mission with global impact.\nKey Responsibilities\nImplement and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and technical controls in accordance with DoD and NIST standards\nSupport Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including security documentation, assessments, and audits\nConduct routine vulnerability scans and security assessments; analyze results and coordinate remediation efforts\nMonitor security tools, system logs, and alerts to identify potential threats or suspicious activity\nRespond to cybersecurity incidents, document findings, and assist with corrective actions\nAssist with identity and access management, including role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA)\nPrepare and maintain cybersecurity reports, incident documentation, and compliance artifacts\nSupport cybersecurity awareness efforts and promote security best practices across the organization\nWork in a DoD-regulated environment to protect classified and unclassified systems\nPartner with IT teams to ensure systems are securely configured and maintained\nAssist the ISSM with continuous monitoring, compliance tracking, and security posture reporting\nParticipate in incident response activities and post-incident analysis\nHelp ensure vulnerabilities and findings are addressed within required timeline\nRequired Qualifications\nU.S. Citizen\nClearance: Active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field;
