The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills, sound problem-solving and analytical reasoning, and a high degree of attention to detail. This role works closely with store teams on a daily basis and must build effective working relationships across the business.\nScope of Job:\nThe Staff Accountant’s primary responsibilities include processing and reviewing accounting transactions for retail and manufacturing, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and playing an active role in the month-end close. The role serves as a liaison between sales channels, store operations, and management to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and in line with company policy and business needs. The Staff Accountant also provides feedback to the Assistant Controller on opportunities to improve processes and use resources efficiently in support of the company’s goals.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nPrepare and deliver daily sales reports for executive leadership review.\nPerform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.\nMaintain the fixed asset register and record monthly depreciation.\nPrepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.\nCode American Express corporate card transactions and post the related journal entries.\nReclassify miscoded transactions to the appropriate income statement accounts.\nTroubleshoot and research system integration issues to ensure sales transactions are recorded accurately and on time.\nSupport month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.\nAssist in preparing lead schedules and supporting documentation for year-end audits.\nContribute to the preparation and publication of financial statements.\nSupport the Assistant Controller with mid-year and year-end physical inventory counts;
