This role leads the SAP Platform Management team and serves as the technical owner for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP RISE environments, HANA databases, middleware infrastructure, system administration, platform automation, and operational excellence.\nThe position is responsible for ensuring reliable SAP operations supporting Lucid's manufacturing, supply chain, finance, engineering, and corporate business functions worldwide. The SAP BASIS Leader works closely with Architecture, Functional, Security, Development, Infrastructure, Manufacturing Systems, and AMS partners to deliver a secure, scalable, and highly available SAP ecosystem. The role also provides leadership for SAP platform strategy, cloud transformation initiatives, and operational governance. \nKey Responsibilities\nSAP Platform Leadership\nLead the SAP Platform Management and BASIS organization.\nEstablish platform strategy, standards, governance, and operational procedures.\nDevelop platform roadmaps supporting Lucid's global growth initiatives.\nManage internal Basis staff, GCC resources, and managed service providers.\nDrive operational maturity through ITIL and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.\nSAP Operations & Service Delivery\nOwn SAP availability, performance, stability, and operational KPIs.\nLead incident, problem, change, and release management activities.\nEnsure 24x7 support readiness for production environments.\nGovern operational SLAs and service performance metrics.\nProvide executive reporting on platform health, risks, and improvement initiatives.\nSAP RISE & Cloud Platform Management\nServe as the primary Lucid owner for SAP RISE platform operations.\nManage relationships and escalation paths with SAP ECS/RISE teams.\nLead cloud platform strategy, capacity planning, and environment governance.\nCoordinate system provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities.\nSupport hyperscaler migration and cloud optimization programs.\nSAP HANA & Database Administration\nOversee SAP HANA administration and performance tuning.\nEstablish backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.\nManage database growth forecasting and capacity planning.\nDrive database security and compliance requirements.\nEnvironment & Release Management\nOwn landscape architecture across Development, QA, UAT, Training, Pre-Production, and Production environments.\nGovern transport management and release deployment processes.\nCoordinate project cutovers and go-live readiness activities.\nEnsure environment availability for project and support teams.\nSecurity & Compliance Partnership\nPartner with SAP Security and GRC teams on audit readiness.\nEnsure platform compliance with SOX, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.\nSupport vulnerability management and disaster recovery testing.\nParticipate in security reviews and remediation governance.\nAutomation & Continuous Improvement\nDrive automation of system monitoring, administration, and operational processes.\nExpand observability capabilities across SAP environments.\nImprove platform reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.\nChampion SAP Clean Core and standardized platform practices.\nVendor & Managed Services Governance\nLead BASIS-related AMS governance.\nOversee IBM and other service provider performance.\nReview service delivery, operational metrics, and contractual obligations.\nDrive continuous service improvement initiatives.\nProject & Transformation Support\nProvide technical leadership for: \nNew plant launches\nSAP S/4HANA transformations\nSAP BTP adoption\nInfrastructure modernization\nM&A integrations\nMajor upgrade programs\nSupport program cutovers and hypercare activities.\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience\n12+ years SAP BASIS experience.\n5+ years leading SAP BASIS or SAP Platform teams.\nExtensive experience with SAP S/4HANA environments.\nExperience supporting large-scale global manufacturing operations.\nExperience managing offshore teams and AMS providers.\nExperience with SAP RISE and cloud-hosted SAP environments.\nTechnical Expertise\nSAP S/4HANA\nSAP ECC\nSAP BTP\nSAP Solution Manager / SAP ALM\nSAP HANA Administration\nSAP Fiori\nSAP Gateway\nSAP Web Dispatcher\nSAP Transport Management\nSAP Cloud Connector\nSAP Integration technologies\nHigh Availability / Disaster Recovery\nPreferred Automotive Experience\nAutomotive manufacturing business processes\nMES integration environments\nPLM (3DX) integration landscapes\nHigh-volume vehicle manufacturing operations\nMulti-plant SAP deployments\nSalary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.\nBase Pay Range (Annual)\n$118,500—$173,800 USD\nCompensation& Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program.
