By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.\nPosition Overview:\nThe General Assembly Production Shift Manager is responsible for leading shift-based production operations within the GA shop, ensuring daily delivery of planned volume, safety, and quality targets. This role provides direct leadership to all production supervisors and shop floor teams, driving execution discipline, operational efficiency, and workforce performance. The position is accountable for achieving production KPIs, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring consistent product quality during both launch and steady-state operations.\nKey Responsibilities:\no Production Execution and Output Delivery:\nLead daily production operations to achieve planned volume targets in line with production schedules.\nEnsure consistent delivery of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) objectives.\nMonitor shift performance and take immediate actions to address any deviations from plan.\nEnsure production processes are executed according to defined standards and work instructions.\no Team Leadership and Workforce Management:\nLead and manage all Production Supervisors and shop floor personnel within the assigned shift.\nDrive accountability for performance, discipline, and adherence to operational standards.\nEnsure proper staffing, skill coverage, and shift resource allocation.\nSupport development and coaching of supervisors and operators to build a high-performing team.\no Safety and Compliance:\nEnsure strict adherence to all safety standards, policies, and procedures.\nPromote a strong safety culture and proactively identify and mitigate risks.\nLead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\no Quality Assurance and Control:\nEnsure production output meets defined quality standards and customer expectations.\nSupport containment and resolution of quality issues in collaboration with Quality teams.\nEnforce standardized work and process discipline to prevent defects. Operational Problem Solving\nLead immediate response to production issues, including line stoppages and bottlenecks.\nCoordinate cross-functional support to resolve issues impacting production performance.\nUtilize structured problem-solving approaches to address recurring operational challenges.\no Performance Management and Continuous Improvement:\nMonitor and report production KPIs including throughput, efficiency, downtime, and scrap.\nIdentify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve results.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and process stability.\no Cross-Functional Coordination:\nWork closely with Maintenance, Process Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.\nEscalate issues impacting production readiness and support resolution across functions.\nSupport launch activities, ramp-up phases, and production readiness reviews. \nSkills:\no Technical Skills:\nStrong understanding of automotive assembly operations and production processes.\nKnowledge of production planning, line balancing, and throughput optimization.\nFamiliarity with manufacturing KPIs and performance management systems\nUnderstanding of quality systems and defect prevention practices.\no Personal Skills:\nStrong leadership and team management capability\nAbility to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced production environment\nExcellent problem-solving and conflict management skills\nEffective communication and stakeholder coordination\nHigh level of ownership, accountability, and results orientation\no Specific Requirements:\nFlexibility to work in shifts and support off-hours, weekends, and ramp-up phases\nExperience in new product launches and production ramp-up preferred \nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)\nMinimum 8-10 years of experience in automotive production operations or manufacturing leadership roles.\n\nProven experience managing supervisors and leading large production teams\nStrong background in high-volume manufacturing environments\nExperience delivering production KPIs including safety, quality, and output \nCompensation& Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.
