By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.\nPosition Overview\nThe PWT Launch Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all launch activities associated with new vehicle programs, engineering changes, and manufacturing readiness. This role serves as a key interface between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics, Program Management, and Product Development teams to ensure successful vehicle launches from concept through Start of Production (SOP). The PWT Launch Engineer leads readiness assessments, build event coordination, issue management, validation activities, and operational readiness execution to ensure safety, quality, cost, timing, and volume objectives are achieved.\nKey Responsibilities\nLaunch Planning & Readiness\nSupport the development and execution of launch plans for new vehicle programs and major product changes.\nUpdate launch deliverables, milestones, and readiness criteria.\nCoordinate cross-functional activities to ensure launch requirements are achieved.\nMonitor launch timing and escalate risks that may impact program objectives.\nSupport Open-to-Go assessments and build readiness reviews.\nBuild Event Coordination\nLead preparation and execution of prototype, pilot, validation, and production builds.\nCoordinate vehicle scheduling and build plans with all participating functions.\nEnsure materials, tooling, equipment, manpower, and documentation are available and ready.\nFacilitate daily build reviews and issue resolution meetings.\nTrack build performance metrics and lessons learned.\nIssue Management & Problem Resolution\nCollect, document, prioritize, and monitor launch-related issues.\nDrive closure plans with responsible teams.\nUtilize structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve launch issues.\nEscalate critical issues to leadership when required.\nTrack issue trends and support management reporting.\nManufacturing Readiness\nAssess manufacturing process readiness against launch requirements.\nSupport validation of equipment, tooling, automation, software, and production systems.\nVerify operational readiness of manufacturing shops.\nEnsure readiness metrics are achieved prior to production milestones.\n Product & Process Validation\nSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities.\nCoordinate vehicle and process validation builds.\nEnsure engineering changes are properly implemented and validated.\nTrack launch quality metrics and process capability indicators.\nSupport root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.\nCross-Functional Leadership\nFacilitate communication between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, Logistics, and Supplier teams.\nDrive alignment on launch priorities and deliverables.\nLead launch meetings and action-item tracking.\nProvide launch status updates to management and executive leadership.\nReporting & Governance\nDevelop launch readiness dashboards and reports.\nMaintain launch scorecards and milestone trackers.\nSupport Launch Governance Reviews and executive launch reporting.\nPresent launch status, risks, countermeasures, and recovery plans.\nContinuous Improvement\nCapture lessons learned from launch activities.\nSupport development of launch standards and best practices.\nIdentify opportunities to improve launch efficiency and risk management processes.\nContribute to future program readiness and organizational learning.\nSkills\nDeep understanding of vehicle assembly.\nUnderstanding of APQP principles.\nAwareness of project management fundamentals.\nExperience with data analysis and reporting tools.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint).\nExperience launching manufacturing and production lines.\nHands-on experience with process validation, commissioning, and manufacturing quality systems.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (Master's preferred).\n3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing.\nExperience supporting new vehicle launches, manufacturing readiness, or production ramp-up activities.\nKnowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and quality systems.\nStrong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nExperience working in cross-functional teams within automotive or advanced manufacturing organizations.\nCompensation& Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.
