By refusing to settle, you can help redefine what’s possible and shape the future of mobility.\nThe Senior BOM & Configuration Engineer is responsible for defining, governing, and maintaining product configurations, vehicle variants, option code structures, and Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) data across Lucid vehicle platforms. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of product definition data throughout the vehicle development lifecycle, supporting engineering releases, prototype and production builds, manufacturing readiness, and downstream system integration. \nThe successful candidate will own and manage EBOM structures, variant configurations, effectivity rules, and change implementation activities while serving as a key liaison between Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Product Data Management teams. The role requires a strong understanding of product structures, configuration management, engineering change processes, and PLM systems to enable scalable vehicle development and production execution.\nRole:\nDefine, manage, and maintain vehicle configurations, option code strategies, effectivity structures, and variant management processes across Lucid vehicle programs. \nOwn and maintain Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) structures, ensuring product data accuracy, traceability, and alignment with engineering intent throughout the product lifecycle. \nSupport planning, execution, and validation activities for prototype, PV, digital buck, and production build events by ensuring configuration data is complete, accurate, and properly represented within PLM systems. \nExecute and coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), including part releases, BOM updates, effectivity changes, variant implementation, and change impact assessments. \nReview and analyze BOM, option code, and configuration changes to identify downstream impacts on manufacturing, supply chain, service, quality, and program execution. \nPartner with Design Engineering, Vehicle Architecture, Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Program Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely and accurate product releases. \nGovern configuration data, effectivity management, and option code implementation to ensure product definition remains synchronized across enterprise systems and business processes. \nSupport integration and synchronization activities between PLM, ERP, MES, and other downstream systems, ensuring product definition and configuration data remain consistent across the digital thread. \nPerform configuration audits, BOM health checks, and data quality assessments to proactively identify and resolve data integrity issues. \nDevelop and maintain standards, processes, documentation, and best practices related to BOM management, configuration management, effectivity governance, and engineering release activities. \nSupport continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and system enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and data governance within the product development process. \nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. \n3+ years of experience in BOM management, configuration management, product lifecycle management (PLM), engineering change management, or related engineering data management functions. \nStrong understanding of: \nEngineering BOMs (EBOM) \nProduct structures and variant management \nVehicle configurations and option codes \nEngineering change processes (ECR, ECO, ECN) \nEffectivity and release management \nProduct lifecycle management principles \nExperience working with PLM platforms such as 3DEXPERIENCE, Teamcenter, Windchill, or equivalent systems. \nExperience supporting cross-functional engineering and manufacturing organizations within complex product development environments. \nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills. \nExcellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. \nPreferred:\nAutomotive industry experience supporting vehicle configurations, product structures, and engineering release processes. \nExperience with PLM-to-ERP integrations and downstream manufacturing systems. \nExperience supporting prototype, validation, pre-production, or production vehicle builds. \nWorking knowledge of SAP, MES, manufacturing BOMs (MBOM), and digital thread concepts. \nExperience developing process improvements, automation solutions, or data governance frameworks related to product definition and configuration management. \nExpectations:\nAccurate and timely execution of engineering releases and configuration updates. \nHigh-quality EBOM and configuration data with minimal downstream errors. \nEffective support of prototype, PV, and production builds. \nImproved data governance, configuration accuracy, and change control compliance. \nStrong cross-functional partnerships enabling efficient vehicle development and launch execution. \nAt Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
